If you have both Kotlin and Java sources in a project, where do you put them? Separate src/ folders by language, or both in the same src/ folder?

Hey Android devs:
I'm looking into our graphics APIs, to see how they can be improved to make Android development easier and more powerful.
If you use our graphics APIs, I'd love to get your input on pain points and suggestions on this handy little survey:

@gryzor @gakisstylianos @matt fair enough. Technically you can start using it in Flamingo when it’s stable through a Registry flag. But a lot of updates have happened upstream that won’t be seen until Giraffe

The new icon style is one of my favorite changes in the IntelliJ new UI - here's a subset of some favorites we've redrawn for Android Studio😻

#AndroidDeveloper UX poll for #JetpackCompose peeps: when you run your app, what would you prefer the Preview panel to do?

People don't connect their smart devices to corporate servers. What a complete surprise! 😉 Two culprits here:
1. Lack of trust
2. Lack of robust connectivity (e.g. wifi details change and they don't reconnect)

Both of these are fundamentally #UXDesign issues

Appliance makers like Whirlpool and LG just can't understand. They added Wi-Fi antennae to their latest dishwashers, ovens, and refrigerators and built apps for them—and yet only 50 percent or fewer of their owners have connected them. What gives?

@abd3lraouf for canary 10? Not much except some bug fixes needed to push features out to beta. We will release beta next year which will have a fuller announcement with highlights.

📣 In my first update to icon.kitchen in a long while, I've finally added support for themed icons in Android 13! Sorry that took so long.

@miguelsolorio the Figma API part is actually really straightforward. Most of the work is ensuring your icons are structured and labeled properly, and registered as components in Figma.

2022-12-09

@miguelsolorio yeah it’s very useful for diffing against icons in production to see if engineers have been messing with them 😁

2022-12-09

@miguelsolorio early on for our team I created a script that used the Figma API to get all the components in our icon library and create a JSON file that could be reused in many tools, like a static website builder. Or in this case, to check against another known list. Well worth the investment to manage icons at scale.

You're checking out an API reference doc and you want to find out what artifact it belongs to?
Or maybe you want to see the implementation?

You can easily do that now

@AnaStanescu22 I see. I can’t say the iPhones with iOS 16 are that great on battery. iPhone 13 Pro with iOS 15 was really good. I find it’s really iOS 16 that was the regression. I hear though that the Pixel 7 batteries are better!
