Wagner Moura delivers the most charismatic lead performance of 2025 in a film that trusts its audience the way 70s Hollywood political thrillers did.

Movie poster for The Secret Agent. Painted in warm amber and cream tones, three men's faces emerge from loose brushstrokes — expressive, slightly weathered, each gazing in a different direction. Below them, two small silhouetted figures walk together against a white background, suggesting a father and son on the run. A faded government stamp marks the lower right corner. The design evokes vintage 1970s political cinema.

#WritersCoffeeClub 3/10 How informal is your prose? Is there a limit to informality?

No limits! But seriously, folks, I am more concerned by the rhythm and impact of the words. Form follows function and all that. Formality is a construct to begin with.

#WritersCoffeeClub March 8: Do the seasons influence your writing? (content? topic? volume?)

The wheel of the seasons and their festivals do 100%. They are the moods of the natural world, and versions of their patterns appear in many stories beyond our earth.

#ScribesAndMakers March 8: Is there a country other than your own that influences your creativity?'

Ireland, Iceland, Scandinavia, the Caribbean, Madagascar, and Mexico

What have you given up in order to write?

Reading, lol. Mostly kidding, but in a busy life, this is where a trade-off happened.

#WordWeavers March 2: Do you write scenes out of order?

Yes! I am mostly writing short fiction, but I'm also looking to stitch some of it together, so, almost by definition, it's scrambled. I am a believer in writing where your motivation is, and then assembling a narrative. But that is just my emerging process.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms takes a darker turn in its second half. Dunk finds himself in power's crosshairs, and Egg turns out to be hiding a secret.

Westeros has never felt this intimate.

A still from A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. A young man in worn medieval clothing — quilted vest over a teal tunic — examines a battered wooden shield, its painted sigil barely visible through the damage. He stands against an ivy-covered stone wall, expression pained, dirt and blood on his face. The image is muted and overcast, emphasizing the show's grounded, intimate tone.

#WritersCoffeeClub Feb. 27: Do you edit while you write?

I am not even sure I can separate the two at this point. I am constantly editing, reordering, and copy-pasting. For me, this is the result of digital tools rewiring (for good & ill) my brain and the writing experience.

Drop someone cold into Shoresy Season 5 and watch them cycle through profanity, laughter, tears, and "are we drinkin' beers?"

Promotional image for Shoresy. Five men in hockey training gear pose against a snowy blue background. The central figure stands tall in a light blue tracksuit and black cap, arms at his sides, expression deadpan. Four teammates flank him on either side, seated and standing, arms crossed, equally serious. Bold red block letters spell SHORESY across the foreground.

What's something you learned about one of our community members' creativity from the hashtag games?

More of a collective statement, but I have learned so much about the indie/DIY publishing/writing world from this community. It's been wonderful. There is one member who blows me away with creativity, output, business savvy, and energy. Thank you from afar!

I am looking to start a #microfiction #flashfiction writing group. The goal is to find 5-7ish writers, readers, and reviewers to work with over time. We would help each other with stories and skills, but also organize ourselves to submit to publications, magazines, blogs, and contests. We would have to be ok sometimes competing. We could meet monthly on video and work from a shared doc (all of this is up for discussion). Anyone interested? Message me. Feel free to share. #writers #writers
