Finally, hobby #gamedev comes into play with a little vector math!

A little behind, but haven't had a lot of time to do these recently.

I just completed "Ceres Search" - Day 4 - Advent of Code 2024 #AdventOfCode adventofcode.com/2024/day/4

Finished part 2. I must have really over complicated part 1 since this was much easier (albeit brute-forcish).

@adw99 Similar thing happened to me. Spent a ton of time on part 1 because of a really silly boundary bug.

Also choosing to solve via recursion was probably not a smart decision.

@idbrii Isn't it because (0, 0) is chosen for upper left of the screen? If you put it on the bottom of the screen wouldn't it complicate where you position sprites and maps?

Been having fun with the Plucky Squire! Really cute action-adventure-puzzle game.

@minionsoft good choice for a remake. I remember playing this on commodore 64.

@ipsquiggle @aoiti I second this. 1080 is hard to read, and if there is ever controller support or small device support, it will be exacerbated.

@davatron5000 Siloed information is the only explanation. Rational review of policies is supplanted by political pundits doing the "thinking" for the voters who are unwittingly getting stuck in a feedback loop.

2024-09-10

@afilina I have the same feelings on it. Too much "magic" that would be hard to refactor safely during upgrades. Explicit over implicit all the way.

@kanec I've been using Moshidon (switched from Tusky). It's a little more modern feeling.

@wedge Might it be some sort of leather working tool? Like a punch for stitching?

2024-09-06

@von_rostock It looks like it might be possible to peek "0x5f4c", at least according to pico-8.fandom.com/wiki/Memory#, however I'm not sure how long it will live there or if you would run into concurrency issues without the "official" call from `btn()`.
