The model for the protagonist of my game is in Vegas and they spotted a very familiar keyring! 💃
I used to make comics. Now I’m making a haunted science-fiction game called Sesari, and I’m making it so slowly you wouldn’t believe it.

Watched Amer and was blown away! Incredibly developed and sophisticated storytelling — a pair of first time directors delivering pure cinema! A true hidden gem as it does not appear to be streamable legally. Criminal. Expressionistic, surrealist giallo.
One of my favorite parts of game development is becoming despondent over something that seems impossible, then having a lie down and eleven minutes into it coming up with the perfect solution
Sesari newsletter! I’ll talk about how Sesari came about and what happened when I released part 1. Here’s a portion of an image that will be included, from when Sesari was a graphic novel. Subscribe now https://sesari.eo.page/kv4cd
We draw Mothman in this house 🫡 🌉
The comic I would reccomend most highly to adventure game players would be the Hobtown Mystery Stories by @krisbertin and Alexander Forbes. Very Twin Peaks, heavy on Nancy Drew/ Hardy Boys. A dream, absolutely hypnotic. https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/Hobtown-Mystery-Stories-Vol-1/Kris-Bertin/Hobtown-Mystery-Stories/9781637152409
@ja2ke Obviosly Sam is 24 and Max is 21
We draw spiders in this house 🫡🕷️
As Sesari’s launch fades (and I feel my will to post vanishing) I thought it would be fun to chat with my friend, abstract painter Brett Thompson. We talk about my history in comics, influences on Sesari, and how an artist knows when they’re “done”. Enjoy! https://youtu.be/5S2NEA0cCc8?si=5z2cmKm55CrsiOam
The publisher, Masala Noir, doesn’t provide much info about themselves either. They appear to be French. Here’s the page for this book on their site. https://mamama-paris.com/products/8-bits-porn-video-games
Another video game book — 8-bit Porn Video Games. It was a struggle to find a couple spreads I was comfortable positing here! No context for the screenshots is given, but many seem to be closely related. Curiously, they are said to be from up until the year 2020!
@MichaelKlamerus I would print it out and frame it
If you’re curious about Sesari but haven’t pulled the trigger on downloading it, you can watch this playthrough! Itchio made it, despite Sesari not being on their platform (yet). Nice of them! https://youtu.be/iTaIXmEwJOU?si=QB5_rSSIj2CV-H4j
✉️ To keep up to date with my game Sesari, sign up for the newsletter. It will be substantial and infrequent. I’m planning a post-launch wrap-up newsletter talking about how launch went, my collaborators, plans for the future, and Sesari’s origins as a graphic novel. Sign up now! https://sesari.eo.page/kv4cd
@Deivore Looking incredible! So cool to see it come together
I've been seeing different projects and games that use the old school EGA palette lately, and I'm very happy about that. It's very encouraging to see different people use it with their own style. Some are very pious to their retro examples while others go for something completely new and both can learn from each other.
Here's a desert scene from Melon Head (link https://wavey-games.itch.io/melon-head):

I like to introduce people to Shiga’s work by showing them this video. In it he describes a book he designed that has three spines (!) and *8 bits of storage* (!!) Take the plunge on Shiga, you won’t be sorry. https://youtu.be/NRxCTeM5pyU?si=qWM3W5j5aaBrIVyO
Next up is Adventuregame Comics by Jason Shiga. Shiga’s books are a singular experience and a total blast. Think “Choose Your Own Adventure” but next level — this book is so interactive that if you wanted to you could just walk around town endlessly without doing anything. (+)
Sesari sounds weird, and looks great. I'll definitely give it a try: https://sesarigame.com/
