So #Mastodon4... Do I have to watch the other three to get a clear understanding of the project, or can I just skip to the Stand battles?

I check the #GameGrumps channel and I find it filled with clickbait titles, misleading, LinusTechTips-level gaslighting thumbnails, and zero info on what game they're actually playing.

It's like they chose the algorithm, rather than keeping the fanbase closely knitted, nurturing it. I don't understand why fans should be punished for the mistakes a content creator makes.

One thing I started doing on Mastodon is clearing the notifications after I've seen them, or at the end of the day. It keeps me from feeling overwhelmed, even if I'm getting notifications from replies only.

Ciao LS! Mastodon è stato aggiornato alla versione 4 portando con sé funzionalità interessanti.

Ad esempio ora è possibile seguire un hashtag esattamente come se fosse un account! Vi basta cliccare sull'hashtag e vedrete che in alto a destra c'è il consueto bottone "segui".

Ottimo modo per espandere la propria "bolla" di contatti e aumentare le interazioni con persone dai vostri stessi interessi.

This doesn't excuse in any way the poor behaviour.

These people have been insulting and trash-talking the fediverse, instances and their admins because they couldn't register. Because it's not readily available like mass social medias are. Because they had an account before but the nickname is different - big oof!

But it's not even that the problem, really.

Lately I've seen people whine and shit-talk mastodon (art and meow.social in particular) for having their registration closed etc.
Most of these people are artist or their clients.

They're tired of birdsite and IG for their unreasonable algorithms, tumblr is a no go, fb literally castrates every page that won't pay for ads, DeviantArt is digging its own grave with NFTs and AI crap (on top of older shitty behaviour), Discord is limited to servers.

And I get it, I've been there.
