Designer, artist, iPhone Notes limit pusher. I know the difference between a "font" and a "typeface", but I'm not obnoxious about it.

A note: while I CW the occasional political post, I don't typically CW things like faces or food. My art is weird, often includes eyes/faces/masks, and can be (I'm told) eerie.
Profile pic: a white pixel rendering of a small computer with a sad face, set on on a black background (Susan Kare's immortal "Sad Mac" icon).
@nicksherman What's especially unsettling is that when a far-right hate group plastered my town with their stickers a few years ago, their branding used a typeface that looked a *lot* like Forza.
It wasn't Forza—it was more condensed and less refined, probably a free font from DaFont or whatever—but everything that this AI "font philosopher" said here sounds entirely plausible as to why this group would have selected it.
@ambivalena Thanks! The Groke is my favorite Moomin character, and last night was very cold with a full moon, so it made me think of her.
@rikuylonen It was about -16C here, so maybe she was in my neighborhood as well.
@likesoldmacs yikes. Glad you managed to limit the damage. My dad just asked me recently about a scam email he got from "PayPal"; it really did look eerily legit.
AI has made these things a lot harder to catch. It used to be that the language was a dead giveaway—"greeting Sir ! this is Micro Sioft Help Support ! your acount is have Virus !!"—but any chatbot can produce completely polished boilerplate, so it's given these guys a major leg up.
@bonkers @NanoRaptor @jamesthomson The donut design uses less material, and it's lighter. It also fits into standard CR2032 compartments, which is why this design is favored over just making a smaller battery.
Donut batteries are used pretty commonly in aerospace, particularly in things like drones or lightweight craft.

@gedeonm My god. That's awful. What a time to be dealing with that—very glad she is okay.
@bougiewonderland @kwrose heh, the green line split was actually inspired by the 4-5-6 in NYC. Other than that, though, I wasn't looking at any particular city's system; interesting to see that there are similarities to existing lines.
@ambivalena Thanks! Yeah, I really enjoy designing these things.
@wklj @marioguzman @rafa I had no idea Things came with stickers. Wish it still did. I probably spend 25% of my day in that app.
@vkc I was wondering that too! I don't have a good sense of how much it takes to produce a song, but even for someone who's been doing this his entire life, I was impressed by the fact that he apparently did that over a weekend.
@vkc I was honestly a little surprised the first Minneapolis song wasn't from Neil Young.

@humdrum "The thousand line-cuts by the old woman I had borne as I best could, but when she ventured upon the last doughnut, I vowed revenge. You, who so well know the nature of my soul,
@krnlg I didn't know about that one! A bit cryptic purpose-wise, but I like the personality.
