The third issue of 'Punk', a music magazine and fanzine created in 1975 by cartoonist John Holmstrom, publisher Ged Dunn and resident punk Legs McNeil, came out in April 1976

I'm old enough to remember the same was said of Friendster, Black Planet, MySpace, etc.
The transition may be uncomfortable, but we'll be ok.
This is the 21st century. We’ll adapt. https://mastodon.social/@anon_opin/112288550286672097
Made a dumb website so I wouldn't ever have to Google "tm symbol" again.
40 years ago this week, "Don't Waste Your Time" by #Yarbrough&Peoples entered the #Top100 at 92. It peaked at 48 on 09 Jun 1984. Perhaps this video gave them ideas, because the couple got married for real three years later. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJPgNLYE-6o #1980s #MusicHistory #MusicVideo

How I wish I rated things:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This thing is superb, no notes, I would bear its children if I could.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ This thing was amazing, minor notes, mostly differences of opinion.
⭐⭐⭐ This thing tried its little heart out, bless it, notes but not nasty notes.
⭐⭐ This wasn't my thing. No offense intended, maybe I wasn't in the right frame of mind at the time.
⭐ This thing wasn't my thing because it was bad. It wasn't so bad as to make me hate it, but it sure wasn't good. Major notes. Massive notes.
⭕ This was an insult. I take it as a personal slight that you made this thing, and I'm inclined to demand satisfaction. No notes because to give you notes would imply that I thought you could improve.
How I actually rate things:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This thing was fine, and I feel bad for criticizing it because so many things these days just get torn down by people, plus sometimes people's livelihoods are on the line, so here you go, it was good.
⭕ I hate this, you, the world, life itself, myself, gah, sweet fuck set it all on fire!
Quite amazing how completely techbros can fuck up without really trying.
Take BlueSky's new labelling system, released late last month. It allows users to create labels for accounts and individual posts.
So you can warn your pals/subscribers about, for example, transphobic accounts or content.
Sounds good, right?
There's two little catches.
Anyone with a few tech skills can set up a labeller. So the transphobes can target trans people, too. And if you feel you've been mislabelled, you have to subscribe to the labelling account to even report it.
But the real lulu is that you can't block a labeller from seeing - and labelling - your account or your posts. A block merely means YOU can't see them on BlueSky.
Way to go to open a whole new harassment vector, dipshits.
mood.
Daffy first appeared in 'Porky's Duck Hunt', released on April 17, 1937. The cartoon was directed by Tex Avery and animated by Bob Clampett. 'Porky's Duck Hunt' is a standard hunter/prey pairing for which Leon Schlesinger's studio was famous, but Daffy (barely more than an unnamed bit player in this short) was something new to moviegoers: an assertive, completely unrestrained, combative protagonist.

The research gap around periods (menstruation) is beginning to be filled. Yay!
Also, STEM misogyny can suck it.
