*Why* should it take nearly 2 GB of RAM to open an #ArcGIS #Dashboard? And sit on 15% of my CPU, without me doing anything? heaven forbid I attempt to interact with it.

Amongst the many things that will no doubt cause me anxiety this week will be a plethora of badly designed election maps.

Paying tribute to Phil Lesh on the latest Brokedown Podcast episode, out today. A few friends contribute their thoughts and stories and I selected a lot of great music. The musical segments cover only a fraction of what Phil gave and will always mean to all of us but, hopefully they feel like a hug to see you through.

It is difficult to put words to this loss. Phil Lesh was unique in so many ways. His quest for the sound has ended, but the legacy of his vision will continue on. That great Darkstarathon is always playing through us all, waiting for it's moment to rise and shimmer once again.

I offer this compilation I made a couple of years ago in tribute to Phil. Fifty-four glorious hours of Dark Star in one continuous piece. D/L the MP3 or FLAC.

Some of my favorite Phil Lesh music happens here starting about ten minutes in, before the lyrics, but no need to skip ahead. Relax. Stream or download lossless:

OK I knew you could mute words but didn't realise that on this lovely app that instead of making those toots just vanish, you can force them to be tucked behind your own custom content warning, for example 'orange twat'. I like it here.

@wharf_rat like a lot of what happened at Veneta, I think this version is excellent, and quite notable for shaking the foundations loose a little so to speak, without being my specific favorite. I feel like they came out of that show with somewhat expanded horizons for China Rider, Bird Song and especially PITB above all. Dark Star is more in line with the ongoing evolution of that piece, much less an outlier than some of the others

The Veneta pictures always kill me because Bill has a tiny kit, Garcia has a wahwah and a dream, and Lesh has a bass the size of a kitchen island with 73 knobs. #gratefuldead
