@dj3ei sure, the error rates of the memories are way to high for safety critical systems. An ASIL-D system requires max 10 FIT (one failure in 10^9 hours). Furthermore these are consumer devices which were not developed for harsh conditions like high and low temperatures and vibrations.

Yesterday I presented our work on memory systems for autonomous driving at the #RESILIENTHPC workshop at hipeac conference in #Toulouse.

There is a convergence of #HPC and #embedded systems. We have similar problems to tackle!

Looking forward to solve all issues for autonomous driving with the #MEMTONOMY consortium.

Hmmm.... I might have accidentally started designing a SDR HAM radio transceiver that should be capable of transmitting SSB various digi modes and probably FM on 80 to 20m using RP2040, Si5351 and the usual bunch BS170.
Might actually be worth the effort to create a hackable, understandable and well documented project in that space.
