@freakboy3742 The Turkish CPython team have a script for making a first-draft machine translation, using Google or DeepL:

@jarofgreen @freakboy3742 @hugovk The "machine translation - then human review" method works better for us in terms of efficiency. Though this perspective is based on my experience with our open-source/volunteer non-professional translation team.

It's the annual Python core developer sprint, this year kindly hosted by @encukou and Red Hat in Brno, Czechia -- thank you!

The first of (at least!) three PEPs being authored this week is by @freakboy3742 and targeting Python 3.13:

PEP 730 – Adding iOS as a supported platform

Abstract

This PEP proposes adding iOS as a supported platform in CPython. The initial goal is to achieve Tier 3 support for Python 3.13. This PEP describes the technical aspects of the changes that are required to support iOS. It also describes the project management concerns related to adoption of iOS as a Tier 3 platform.

I helped out with the CPython sprint at last weekend, we had one room for code and another for documentation, and merged some 140 PRs in total! It was rewarding to help people make their very first contributions. Thanks to everyone who contributed, plus to all the organisers and volunteers!

Here's a great writeup on the conference and sprints from @ambv:
