I might just need to print some of these to bring to #PyConUS in May. https://makerworld.com/models/2184648?appSharePlatform=more
the first day back after a holiday break is an endless sea of people catching up from the past 2 weeks and asking what happened 10 days ago.
So I took a break from finding timecodes to complete fault reports, caught up on socials, and ending my day on a positive note cuz I'm seeing so many folks are registering and booking places to stay for #PyConUS 2026 in Long Beach! :ablobcatheartsqueeze:
Sooo excited!
Registered for #PyConUS
in other #PyConUS random thoughts: I assume being LA means there will be a lot more outdoor seating at food/drink places…but also the outdoor seating will be in demand, instead of largely available for us covid-cautious folx (in places where May isn't necessarily fantastic weather)
possibly-crap-air-quality hotel closer to venue?
better-air-quality hotel farther from venue?
unaffiliated cute modern boutique hotel that only lets you book <3mo out?
…comedy option of the "bed & breakfast" at the marina where the rooms /are friggin boats/? 🤣
#PyConUS registration booked. 👀
If you want to go to #PyConUS and aren't sure you can afford it, you can apply for a travel grant. Don't miss the chance. (You can always withdraw the application or decline the grant if you get funding elsewhere.)

Please be extra kind to the #PyConUS cfp chairs and reviewers, as this holiday season, they have the fun task of diving through 1,015 proposals!
I've had "it's the most wonderful time of the year" stuck in my head all day, and I'm beyond excited for what the schedule will look like for 2026!
A big thanks to the cfp team and the reviewers for this work!
Also, thank you to everyone who took the time to pitch!
Long Beach, get ready! A bunch of 🐍 will be here in less than 5 months!
🎉 A record-breaking year for the #PyConUS 2026 CFP! The PyCon US CFP is officially closed, and we received 1,015 proposal submissions — WOW 😮
A HUGE thank you to everyone for sharing your ideas, expertise, and passion with the community. We’re excited for what’s ahead! 🐍🚀
Missed the PyCon US 2026 CFP deadline because you were “just about to submit”? ⌛
If you too are a “professional procrastinator”, don’t worry, this is your lucky exception 😉
The CFP for PyCon is still open…
just not the one in Long Beach 🏖️
Jokes apart, you can present your talk in Bologna at PyCon Italia 2026: English talks, 1k+ attendees, late spring weather, great food, and a historic city 🇮🇹

If you only remember to do one thing today, it should be proposing a talk for #PyConUS 2026. CFP closes today!
There's still time to submit a proposal for the #PyConUS 2026 Poster Session in Long Beach, California! The CFP closes tonight but the application is very short so don't be afraid to submit a proposal for a fun python project you've been working on or just would like to try! 🐍 https://us.pycon.org/2026/speaking/posters/
Anyone else burning the midnight oil and working on their #PyConUS session proposals? 🙋♀️
You got just under 24 hours to submit your proposal for a talk, tutorial or poster!
The cfp will close end of day Dec 19th.
Finally finished my last #PyConUS talk proposal. Here's hoping that everyone else's talks are better than mine and I don't have to actually prepare a talk 😉
