Picking up Radio Kuwait fairly loud and clear on 1296kHz on my Sangean radio in the bedroom (Ireland). I love this about radio, being able to have a "direct line" to so many parts of the world.

EIRSAT-1 is due to launch from California tomorrow evening (Friday, December 1). I spoke to the team recently and they would be HUGELY appreciative of any data that can be collected by radio amateurs around the world in the hours after launch.

This can be as simple as "hey I heard something", or waterfall screenshots, raw audio, using SatNOGS, and so on.

The frequency will be 437.1 MHz, so if you can, it would be great to get your radio fired up for reception!

@g7vkq @M0RVB Thanks folks! I got the LoRa TinyGS station up and running without issue. My antenna is one I got on, I think, AliExpress some years ago; it has a base, plus a main radiator with two parts (a 70cm segment plus an extra segment for 2m), and two sets of radials for the two bands. So far it seems to be doing what it's supposed to!

Side notes: I have a wide band LNA already, and a broadcast band filter on the way. I have a quarter-wave ground plane antenna ready to go, but just needs a connector to get it connected up; that's also on the way! Looking forward to getting this up and running

Hello all! I'm working on setting up a TinyGS ground station. Just have a quick question regarding the Lilygo LoRa/ESP32 module: does using an external antenna on the SMA connector require any modifications to the board? Or does it work out of the box? I've briefly read a couple of things where it was mentioned that for some boards modifications were needed (jumping a resistor), but I'm not sure if it applies to this board. I'm brand new to LoRa so it's just a little overwhelming to get info.

I mean, covered in cobwebs. And I also have no idea what "good nick" cold mean in radio terms. But I'm open to crowdsourcing a repair, if that might be a thing folks are up for.

Got her open. She's beautiful. Needs work but so far looks like it's in good nick.

Oh my goodness gracious. This radio is a treasure

@f1sls that's really nice! Designing QSL cards can be a bit of a nightmare when trying to fit in space for lots of info. I really think this works well, and allows you to use the "normal" address space etc on a regular postcard. Good work!

If it's not too windy tomorrow to put up a portable antenna in the garden, I'll try to make time to get on the air! Was on briefly last weekend and made a (tricky!) contact with HB9CVQ, which was good fun.

I might do some SSB again tomorrow but I also feel like I want to do a bit of JS8Call. I'll post again when I'm getting ready to TX.

Hello! My name is Conor, callsign EI6GSB. I got my radio license about 15 years ago and I've been experimenting ever since. I like QRP operations, digital modes, and tinkering around with electronics/radio circuits and kits.

My main radio right now is a Xiegu G90 with a longwire antenna, which I use for SSB and digital modes. I also do the occasional SOTA on VHF, and have played around with listening to satellites.

I collect SWL QSL cards, and enjoy sending them to my contacts!
