hi, I'm Dune, aka nofunoverlord. we've had this username for at least 6 or 7 years, starting on twitter and twitch (neither of which I'm on anymore), and moving to bsky for the last 2.5 years or so (which I've been banned from)

we're 38, trans, therian furry, plural, disabled, AuDHD, and a sexworker

we've been out as trans for 7 or 8 years, and on hrt for almost 6. we are a non-binary trans woman, and a pan-attracted aroace lesbian

we're huge advocates of online accessibility, so you will probably see us writing threads about it. we usually try to stay respectful and educational about it, but sometimes we can be sassy lol. i will not interact with inaccessible toots

we live in Canada, making northern Alberta our home. so you'll probably see me complaining about those governments

we like board & card games, with Coup and Dominion being our faves. you'll catch us playing video games a lot, mostly on Steam. we like everything (except souls games, and anything produced by EA especially), but are exceptionally bad at video games so if we ever stream you'll see us die a lot

yeah I dunno this seems like enough. I'm an open and earnest person, you can just simply ask me questions and I will answer them (good faith questions get answers, bad faith questioners get sassed aggressively)

You can put the #hashtag anywhere in the post, like on other platforms. You can also tag other accounts to mention them :3

You should also upload an icon & a banner image on your account. You can do that in your profile preferences. There's an "edit profile" button around somewhere

I would also recommend going to the "live feeds" page of meow and following anyone who looks interesting. There's no (or at least not much) algorithmic content delivery so you need to follow folks to see things

Haldo! I'm Florian, Floryn, or Flo, whichever you like. After 30 years of life, I've finally found the path to an acceptance of who I am, a way beyond the fear that I've always had of myself. As it turns out, I'm Nonbinary, but as I'm still getting used to all this I don't really know how to define myself gender-wise beyond that right now, but I'll get there. I'm good with any pronouns, honestly, so you can refer to me however you want without fear of doing something wrong! I'm also Autistic and kind of loud about that fact whenever I see the face of a certain Kennedy jackass...

What you'll mostly see of me here is the cutesy femboy that's been coming out more and more. This is essentially my outlet and safe place to be myself fully instead of keeping it DL like I'd normally have to, so I'm excited! Also, people talk about the "death of the femboy" like you can't feel or be cute anymore if you're over 28 or 29. I say that's bullshit, watch me! 😏 My favorite outfit right now is, for real, the Gerudo disguise from Breath of the Wild, which I just call "femboy link". See below for pics, I think it looks adorable, and it's still wild to me that Nintendo of all people created one of the best femboy outfits out there lol. It's just a Halloween quality costume, really, but it's surprisingly good for the price and it makes me feel confident to boot! Only thing is, in a couple pics, I didn't realize my Sheikah Slate prop was drooping along with my belt 🫢

A little tidbit about me, aside from that stuff, is that I'm almost done with my weight loss journey. Between two years ago and now, I've lost over 70 pounds! Non-Americans I love you but I don't know what a kilo is so I can't convert that measurement 😸 I still have a bit to go on the belly, but I'm incredibly proud of how far I've come!

New instance, new #introduction, after moving here from @historians.social. I've been on the Fediverse since 2022, and I wish there were more ancient Mediterranean people here.

I am a mature-aged ancient history and classical languages student at the University of Queensland (in Brisbane, Australia). I've completed one post-graduate diploma in ancient history and Latin, and I've enrolled in a second for more ancient history and ancient Greek.

After six months off, I'm back to advanced ancient Greek this semester. Euripides FTW.

The broad plan is to pursue postgraduate studies in the next few years, depending on the day job and other commitments.

I thought I should do a bit of an intro. I'm fairly new to Mastodon but I'm not a Bsky refugee. I was never on it because it quickly seemed to generate the same annoying dynamics as Twitter, with people doing things for likes.

I'd been off social media for ages until a column by @pluralistic inspired me to check out the fediverse. I really like it so far - it seems pretty chill and doesn't hurt my brain. I'm not a techie but I'm very interested in the politics of tech so appreciate learning more about those issues here.

I haven't posted a lot myself because of having to resize images before uploading, which I can't seem to do easily! 😂 Advice would be helpful. I'm also figuring out the norms for posting.

I'm masquerading as a Common Loon for now while I figure out how I want to build a new relationship to social media.

I’m a marine biology major at Texas A&M Galveston. I am passionate about all things biology and ecology, and I always want to learn more.
On this platform, I hope to share some of my nature photography, discuss papers I find interesting, show off my small collection of vintage science stuff, proselytize about the many benefits of iNaturalist, and most importantly, connect with other like-minded folks. I’ll probably be starting off slow as I’m a very busy bee, but I hope that after I graduate in December I’ll have a bit more time to devote to this platform. Currently, I’m enrolled in classes and working in both the chemistry prep lab and the sea life facility at my university.
Outside of my love of science and nature, I’m also an artist, furry, and cat owner.
