A method of rendering imaginations into public reality, i.e. a new image system. A system for reworlding, where we render an imagined future out of the present day reality in the background. This video represents the opto-mechanics, but in final each cell moves independently to create an intended image by remixing the features from the background. Final work to be presented in public in Seoul, September of this year.

A simple script for using a low cost http://vast.ai instance as a high performance Blender render farm with Dropbox synching https://github.com/elliotwoods/vastai-scripts
@niftyben I wrote it in C++ with #ceressolver and #openFrameworks . Source code at https://github.com/elliotwoods/ofxCeres/tree/master/Example-LensDesigner
We're looking for a place to stay in Berlin in January 2023 whilst we give some TLC to our Another Moon project in a studio space there. Any tips and suggestions would be super appreciated
@Eightlines I gave a workshop at Kikk festival introducing these non-linear solvers as a general tool for calibration and mathematics in the arts. I might make an online video one day also.
@Eightlines my mathematics is here: https://github.com/elliotwoods/ofxCeres/tree/master/Example-LensDesigner/src/Models. It’s mostly just Snell’s law and a non linear optimiser. The non linear optimiser uses auto-differentiation to walk the parameters in the direction of lowest residuals, so you can “solve the lens”. ofxCeres / ceressolver by Google is the magic sauce.

A friend in Seoul asked for a list of speaker recommendations for a high-end conference that they are coordinating. Here's my quick stab at a fantasy list https://paper.dropbox.com/doc/Conference-recommendations--Bttc9sVk8o59S09HWMbLJ6h9Ag-vfK5tyNgrC4gdfQcFW6rU
@digitalcoleman David Chalmers often flips between being fascinating and pointless. The paper “Consciousness and the Collapse of the Wave Function” looks like a winner (but it’s 59 pages long) https://arxiv.org/pdf/2105.02314.pdf

Sabine Hossenfelder’s latest video essay on the interactions between #quantumMechanics and #consciousness https://youtu.be/v1wqUCATYUA. She’s consistently brilliant at covering all the important* ideas around any issue (*and some popular but unimportant ones also)
@nervous_jessica hello superhero~. I hope you don't mind me copying your post.
Goood morning Mastadon! I’m 1 of 2 of Kimchi and Chips art collective (South Korea), creating contemporary media art with #optics #solar #robotics #computerVision #creativeCoding #machineLeaning. We release about one new work a year (some take 7 years) and everything is open source online. Our works discuss images, natural scarcity and spectacle. I never really locked onto Twitter due timezone and other problems but I’m down to give this a try. #introduction
