There was a midair collision a few minutes ago between an airliner and a helicopter at DCA (Reagan national).

Current rumor is that it's a mass casualty event with both aircraft in the water.

We haven't had a fatal accident in the US airline world since Colgan 3407 in 2009, but it sounds like our luck has just run out.

While there are many good people who might still be on threads, they have alternatives across the fediverse.
