This morning I saw this fine fellow in the carpark at ANU. He didn’t mind how close I was standing, he jumper off the log and started digging in the dirt for worms and bugs.
@daedalus I wonder who the one Engineering / Tech / Science member was?
Also there’s a uni student among “Other” - Jordon Steele-John.

@daedalus it is so much harder to get up in cold weather
@joshtaylor.bsky.social nice title! May all your FOIs be quickly resolved in your favour.
@ewen would watch!
Today I planted seedlings of coriander, cauliflower, and broccoli. Also potted up a cute little echeveria, a pigface, some ice plants, and a string of turtles.
Four more baby succulents to pot next weekend (when I find some more little pots).
@s0 @CptCheesyCrust @ariaflame we did that still in Canberra when I first moved here in 1994! I thought it was very cool. I’d still do that and pay more for milk if it was a thing.
It was nice to see so many people dress up and have fun at the Carillon today. When the clavier players came out, Peter was dressed as Obi-Wan too.
Lovely day for a picnic at the Carillon in Canberra.
#MayThe4th be with you :vibing:
One of my favourite things at yesterday’s polling booths was being asked questions by voters who are new to this electorate, or first time voters. They genuinely wanted to know how our party’s Parliamentarians make decisions, and why the HTV preference recommendations are what they are. I think I convinced some young women to get more engaged in politics and democracy from those chats. I do love when people join in the making of governments. #auspol
@RanaldClouston @troberts there’s always a post election review. How much change happens as a result of the review is up to the party.
But also, this is how democracy works. The electors are disillusioned with party politics and want individuals, elected largely on their ability to charismatically sell a vision of change on key things their local electorate cares about. Democracy is working in that we’re getting what we voted for, and that’s ok.
@stibbons I saw quite a few t-shirts in voters yesterday that said “Good morning to everyone except Peter Dutton”.
