So this morning I was booked to go and train a bunch of young people (14-15yrs) who without any prompting have set up a company, called Tec Tarw, #recycling computers. They wanted to learn @inkscape to vinyl cut to apply their logo onto their machines/products. I walk in and they are all using @iFixit tools and talking about #repair .. an absolute honour to meet them. #thekidsarealright I'll post their website when they go live etc.

Rode past a stationary cyclist by the side of the road the afternoon.

"Do you have everything you need?" I asked.
"Firmware update" was the reply.

@ben I've read it but I feel like I'm missing something. It looks like the method is to draw the idea on roughly an A3 sized piece of paper. What does the "half" mean in half sheet? Is it a reference to half a Flipboard sheet of paper? Perhaps it's a language thing 🤔

@concretedog mine turns 18 this year too and it feels a bit surreal to almost have another adult in the house 😁 I couldn't be more proud of him though, I'm sure he's going to be a great adult. 🥰

Lens Platform Now Available, Collaborate With FreeCAD Online
Earlier this year the FreeCAD Project Association (FPA) awarded a grant that sought to make the Ondsel Lens platform available to all. If you don't know the Lens platform it enables vault style storage of projects with a heap of online collaborative tools.

Really pleased to hear that @ZackPolanski is standing to be leader of the Green Party U.K. No disrespect to the current leaders but I've been thinking for a few years that they would be doing so much better if he was the party leader. I'm almost tempted to join the party just so I can vote for him. 🤔
If he can work with Greens Organise, I think they could cut through and become the obvious home for left of centre voters who have given up in despair of the Labour Party. Good luck Zack 👍

Just bought tickets to #makerscentral in May (the Saturday session), it's on offer today, enter STGEORGE to get two tickets for £40. Looks like a great lineup.

@biglesp I've got an ender 2 which my son uses, it's been a brilliant printer from the start 😎

@biglesp @cymplecy @talktech shame it's a long lead time. I'm tempted by the Elegoo Neptune 4 Plus which is klipper based and larger print bed than I have now which could be useful at times. No enclosure though 🤔 what did you think of your Neptune 3 when you had that?

My ancient prusa i3 clone tried to destroy itself today so I'm looking at whether to fix it again or look for something new...

@simonjay this is an excellent video and reminds me very much of some of the superb videos put out by labour back around 2017, I can't remember the name of the chap who made them now and sadly he died but they were gritty, truthful and powerful. I hope there's more of this to come.
