Within the microcosm of society that is prison, people must be careful of the way they tread. Careful of their thoughts that become their words, careful of their words that become their actions, careful of their actions that become their habits, careful of their habits that become their character. Or so the saying goes. It’s a prudent way to live. In prison, it’s the only way.

So for example, claiming that someone is a rat, cop, fed, or sex offender isn’t taken lightly [in prison]. Nor should it. If someone hits the main line, and you know for a fact, 100%, that they ratted, you can give the time, date, and place, but you still have to produce paperwork for your claims. Any accusations as serious as that require empirical evidence.

Too often in prison, I’ve seen people get slapped as a bad dude simply because the most popular person with the most clout said so, and others just follow their lead. [...]

omg the saga of this "white dates" website getting totally scraped, archived, people doxxed, and then as a grand finale, utterly deleted live onstage at a conference is such fucking gold, incredible stuff -- kudos to @back2theRoot for bodying these losers so hard and giving us something to cheer about at the end of this year.

Earlier this afternoon, Fulton County (Georgia, USA) judge kevin farmer officially issued his order, awaited since a September hearing, dismissing the RICO charges against a #StopCopCity activist due to lack of prosecutorial authority. The ruling effectively leaves the RICO charges against the Stop Cop City 61 defendants all dead in the water, with only other charges for a few defendants remaining.

I find that when non disabled people are discussing something they refer to needing to be more accessible for them, over 75 percent of the time they just mean that they want it to be more convenient. Language of accessibility is coopted and misused and thrown back at disabled people because non disabled people don't have a grasp on what actually inaccessible things are. And they believe everything should be convenient for them. Access and convenience should not be conflated

Information gets distorted as it moves up a hierarchy, and the more rigid that hierarchy gets the less the people at the top of it have any real idea what's going on at the ground level.

Think about it this way. When a person at the bottom reports to their superior, they tend—even unintentionally—to distort things slightly in order to make the superior happy with them. This happens at every report, all the way up the chain of command, until it gets to the person at the top. The game of telephone that has occurred means that the person at the top is completely misinformed about even the most basic things.

This even happens in radical organizations, with people trying to do liberatory work. In those cases the only way to fix it is to take a hammer to it. Practice radical honesty. Tear the misinformation funnel down.

people talk about affordable units in large panel buildings as "social housing", but i just as easily think about single detached family houses on quarter acre lots as "anti-social housing".
