Coffee-drinking code-loving tech-enthusiast. So many ideas but never enough time. I miss the internet of the '90s.

Stupid question about the Fediverse -- if I create a centralized service, but let others download and run their own instances, just making sure they can pass data between them -- have I basically cloned what does?

I desperately needed to get started on this very important software project, so I've spent the last hour searching for juuuust the right wallpaper to help set the mood and motivate me to contribute effort to the only thing that puts food in my family's mouths. Luckily I found a a cool black wallpaper with neon letters spelling "Stay Focused & Keep Grinding" 💯 🙏

Now I just have to knock out a quick "hacking @ 3am" playlist on Spotify and then I'm going to be so fucking productive!

The last time I was on Mastodon was prior to the global pandemic. I may not be consistent, but I'm loyal in the end.

I'm going to start a 30-day challenge where everyday I start a new 30-day challenge. By day 30, I'm going to have so many things to do.

We're still just cruising along in the middle of a global pandemic, with uncprecented levels of unemployment, and and the only thing more relentless are all these rich people spamming me, begging for my money. So out of touch.

I thought of the ultimate fitness lifehack. Save a month's worth of PTO days then go on vacation. Prior to vacation, apply for seasonal work at an Amazon Fulfillment Center. Work there for the month, earning extra income while walking like 25 miles a day.

I wanted to play an April Fools day trick at work, but due to the current situation I wasn't sure if it would be a good idea. So I changed the font on the DevOps website/Artifact repo to Comic Sans MS and changed any references of 'DevOps' to 'DevOops'.

My favorite part of the planning stage of a new startup idea is seeing a better executed version of my idea on Hacker News a few days into it.

If Bloomberg taught us anything, it's that it isn't really that easy to buy yourself into politics.

If you use the virtual KVM software Barrier¹ on Windows and your "monitors" can't connect:

On the server, go to SysTray and open the Barrier context menu. Select "Show Log". If you see a steady stream of "ERROR: ipc connection error, connection refused" it means the service is stopped.

Run `Start-Service Barrier` in Powershell as (Admin). Confirm it's running with `Get-Service Barrier`.

@malin
Thanks, I looked up the bomb attacks on Wikipedia and most were referring to grenades surprisingly. One city had 30 grenade explosions in August 2015. This is mostly attributed to organized crime extorting restaurants and businesses.

I'm more surprised that Sweden apparently has so much organized crime. What kind of organized crime is it? Gangs run by Swedes? Traditional mafia, what?

At this point you can just Google stock replies.

- rape figures exaggerated, and result from different legal definitions.

- 630 bombings is a work of fiction. The actual numbers are generated in a large part by right wing extremists.

... so the right wing are literally planting bombs and then saying the problem is Socialism.

Shootings:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trollh%C

- Lastly, 'hospitals overwhelmed', which apparently is caused by socialism. Zero evidence.

This entire tweet is cancer.

Hey remember when NPR, MSNBC, and the like kept pushing the line that undocumented immigrants actually pay more in taxes than the average American? So why all the hubabaloo over not letting people immigrate to the US if they're just going to come here and be on public assistance?

So often when I'm filling out my time card, I'm shocked to realize I only got one or two things accomplished in 8 hours. The real problem is my entire day was spent trying to focus on a specific set of tasks while constantly being interrupted with questions that seemingly only I can answer. It's like I appreciate the confidence sometimes, but come on. It's mentally exhausting. I suppose. 🤷‍♂️

Anyone who was claiming Trump was an oligarch better be screaming now that Bloomberg is literally buying the Democratic primary.
