the past days we've started getting a taste of the Vardø winds and oh I must admit, I did not expect I would enjoy this type of weather in such a way :blobcatlove:

Nature as a dataviz medium? 🤓
Notice those white splatters on the wall?The brown spots along the boarded up red window? A heat map made out of poop and removed paint, showing which spots the kittiwakes typically breed.
The kittiwakes are back at their usual spot this year, except this time they’re not standing on any nest, but on a newly put up slanted plank. The amount of nesting material on the ground underneath indicating their failed nesting attempts.
@azaliz thank you!
Let’s stop treating accessibility like a dev-only checklist.
It’s a design opportunity. And it starts before the first line of code.
I’m having some availability opening up for dataviz/web accessibility reviews, consulting, talks and training from October onwards.
And as a fun aside, the work will be done from an island a little bit above 70°N in the Norwegian arctic, under the northern lights (or midnight sun in summer), surrounded by whales, rich birdlife, and a whole lot of weather 🤩

Good morning, fediweirdos!
As it's the start of Pride Period, I would like to remind everyone:
You know customer support chat bots are in a bad state when I, a millennial, feel like *calling* customer support instead 🥵
@matt Would have been nice to say goodbye, but I’m sure well be back to visit Oslo and run into each other somehow 😄 And thanks!
Aaaaand we’ve officially moved out of Oslo 🫡 Now starts the week long drive to our new home, on an island in the northern/eastern most point of Norway. Excited!
I’m excited about this 🥰

and that for a monday :blobcatfearful:
I know I work with technology so I should be good at and excited about using technology, but today I had to pick up a package I ordered in a mailbox that had to be opened with an app (for which I had to create an account) and it almost made me cry
