Kicking off #PrideMonth a little early!
Got a wonderfully fluffy, cute and yet quite belligerent bearkitty.
I think this year we will see an influx on more combative Pride icons.

@bmarinov @Kuraiko Contact was at least quite bad when I got it (We tested that with the marker method and dial indicator).
Which is said to produce uneven grounds. And many coffee enthusiasts like Lance Hedrick and James Hoffman support this and always align their burrs as well.

I don't have a before and after photo, but there was only a section on both burrs that actually had contact with each other. We could see that very clearly.
So we aligned them without grinding coffee in the unaligned state (so the burrs stayed clean).
One of the issues we had was that the burrs were tightened very hard which already warped the burrs a tiny bit (reversible). That was better after we loosened them and attached them with 3Nm and then aligned them.

And now after we aligned both burrs and tested them, I started to season my burrs.
Which is, in my opinion, a very important step for even grounds and a normal level of fines.
But I don't know how much coffee you ran through your burrs so far.
I seasoned mine with ~1,5 kg of cheap beans to take off the uneven edges that all new burrs have.
And now I am ready to send my DF64 Gen1 into hibernation again

Maybe not 100% perfect but the outer edge has now contact all around on both sides.

Also it helped already a bit to loosen the screws and tighten them again with ~3Nm cause they were pretty firmly tighten o.o

Bottom is short pastry then Schichtkäse with sugar, eggs, cream, lemon zest, lemon juice, vanilla extract and topped with crumbles.

150°C for 20 minutes, we'll see how it goes...

Let you know when something burned down.

I really should have planned ahead and gotten a new Pride pic of my fursona... ideally my diaperfur sona. That was maybe a bit silly of me.
Even though I do have some really lovely pics I can reuse, so it is no real problem at all.
Just a "Aww, I should have done that".

@d @tagesschau Das ist wieder eine ganz andere Baustelle und ein eigenes Thema.
Ging erst mal nur um die Umweltbilanz. Und die fällt positiver aus.

Ob man das nun möchte ist dann die eigene Entscheidung. Und man muss auch ein bisschen schauen was man nun mit welchem Produkt ersetzen möchte. Denn häufig ersetzt man etwas prozessiertes mit etwas anderem prozessierten. Und selbst da gibt es bei den Ersatzprodukten noch Unterschiede.
Aber wie Du schon sagst, die Entscheidung liegt bei jedem einzelnen selbst. Ich möchte mir da auch keine generelle Beurteilung anmaßen

Rein persönlich verwende ich die Produkte manchmal ganz gerne, um ein gewisses Craving zu befriedigen für ein Fleischprodukt was ich selbst nun nicht mehr esse. Es schmeckt natürlich nicht genauso, und ich möchte es auch nicht übertreiben, aber es füllt für mich die gleiche Lücke. Deswegen finde ich es für mich, rein persönlich, auch mal praktisch.
Aber gleichzeitig will ich es auch nicht übertreiben.
Ich koche selbst sehr gerne mit frischen Produkten und Zutaten, koche gerne mit dem was ich habe, ohne das Ziel zu haben etwas 1 zu 1 zu ersetzen.
Und ich verwende z.B. auch extrem gerne Tofu, aber nicht als Fleischersatz, sondern als eine eigene Zutat mit ganz eigenen Eigenschaften.

Aber das ist alles nicht allgemeingültig und ich möchte vermeiden anderen Leuten in ihre Ernährungsgewohnheiten reinzureden.
