All require a significant time investment. Tough decision if you don't have a project in mind. Maybe look at freecodecamp.org Watch a basic tutorial or two and get a feel for each. Or flip a coin and just go for it.

Folks are treating the recent tech layoffs as something spontaneous. They were not. Apparently the current layoffs were orchestrated by hedge funds.

This hedge fund demanded that the big tech companies lay people off because they were being paid too much. Let that one sink in: a hedge fund manager saying that you're being paid too much.

Note that TCI is demanding that Google lay off more people.

Letter from TCI Fund Management, from Christopher Hohn to Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai. In the letter, he demands that Alphabet lay off 20% of its staff and cut salaries.

"The universe is only as large as our perception of it. When we cultivate our awareness, we are expanding the universe.

This expands the scope, not just of the material at our disposal to create from, but of the life we get to live."

@birv2
I was more of a TRS80 fan myself 😀

SEO causes writing that is quite frankly, tiring. The constant flow of click bait titles. The repeated use of the keyword where it may not be needed. Substituting power words for what might be the better word.

Not only that but the search engines can use SEO rewards and punishments to steer writing in any direction they choose.

Did Mozart let Emporer Joseph II decide the proper number of notes? I think not.

Am I crazy?

@colorfiend
I would feel honored

@ankteckningar Excellent post. It has inspired some interesting ideas. Nice to see such original content.

@bobdoto I find logging an early morning HRV plus some Garmin sleep and stress metrics useful. I put the key value pairs in my daily note and view simple dataview table.

I like to number my final drafts consecutively. It helps keep track of revisions.

@clearlykrystle I have no need to follow this advice. I just find it odd that over 20% of English speakers cannot follow a 10 word sentence where the words average 5 letters each. Doesn't seem possible unless they are all children. Maybe they are.

@Cliftographer Overzealous for sure and indicative of the sorry state of our national discourse, or lack thereof.

After writing a blog post this afternoon, I ran it through Grammarly, which I am evaluating.

Its conclusions:
Word length 5 - above average
Sentence length 10.1 - above average
Readability 56

Then this:

Your text is likely to be understood by a reader who has a 9th-grade education (age 15). Aim for a score of 60-70 to ensure your text is readable by 80% of English speakers.
(Where a higher score is easier to read)

Between this and SEO suggestions I get a bit dispirited!

@apps Fedilab is a terrific app. With it, I can see my usual feeds plus the public feeds of other servers that interest me but where I do not have an account. Great tool!
