The one that's also been diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer. Technically terminally ill, but could be months or years yet. No cure though.

Every once in a while, KEXP throw something that makes the hair (yes there is some) on the back of my neck stand up.
This week's find is polkadot. Just magic.

@tomgauld.bsky.social Ooh, a mention for @skinnylatte's work!

@guyjantic Fair and accurate point, and one of the reasons that I and a lot of my infrastructure colleagues don't use our University's managed services!

I think most of us in my section at work have fairly privileged access to stuff, so we're all reasonably paranoid about interlopers getting in.

@guyjantic Play the infosec angle. Compartmentalisation, if your Gmail account is compromised then people might have access to work stuff via your phone.

@guyjantic My suggestion is that if work want you to use a phone, they should provide one to you. I used to have everything on a personal device but I split that out in 2020 and pretty much refuse to have work stuff on my personal Android phone now - *especially* Outlook.

@neil "Us lot" are happy to remain inexplicable.

(Sample of 1, shouldn't be representative but conveniently inexplicably is)

@matt303 @TGG303 we should measure height in Joules per Kelvin, anyway 🤔

@TGG303 sounds like one of them is returning AI slop.

@dirtyoldtown I'm glad your son was treated like that.

Funny how concentrating on the patient and not the shareholders is such a massively different point of view!

Let's hope none of the German kids going the other way visit Taco Bell 😉

@gsuberland What's the problem?

I've been using Macs for years. Yes they are frustrating at times but they're vastly preferable for me to anything Windows shaped.

@hyperreal depending on your location there are several power monitoring smart plugs out there, like the ones sold by @localbytesshop (UK)

@girlonthenet "OMG PRESENTS" is just like the opening to a film, or the bit about the promoter on a concert ticket.

In this context, that's an... interesting link!

@Tattooed_Mummy WALL-E, without question.

@TheBreadmonkey @AnguaDelphine just Ocado, I think (in the UK at least). All the other major players have humans doing the picking in store, or from a distribution centre.

My local Tesco picks in store, as does Morrisons. Sainsbury's locally is too small so their deliveries come from a bigger store in Leicester.

@TheBreadmonkey Well, that sounds like you may be in luck. How much do I want for it?

#ReverseHaggling

@TheBreadmonkey For what intended use? As a tiny computer running Linux, or something more specialised?

I've got a Pi 400 kicking around somewhere that the kids grew out of and I stopped using for Home Assistant as it wasn't convenient. If that's suitable, we can haggle over it!

@DJDarren

King - Love and Pride (bona fide 80s banger, with epic DM boots)

@stavvers it's an industry joke, surely.

Is it the end with the batch number and expiry date or the end with the brand colours on it? What was it last time? IT ISN'T THAT, SUCKERS!

@ChrisWarwick @jfparis there are quite a lot of threads on the #HomeAssistant forum about this but no consolidated list AFAIK.

If you've got a Daikin Altherma, there's #ESPAltherma which is a custom piece of code that runs on ESP/Arduino boards and reads direct from the X10A interface inside the heat pump.
