I've read the best approach to connecting with Letsencrypt behind a firewall at my home is to use a reverse proxy.

I really want to have a go at setting up NGINX reverse proxy, connecting to Letsencrypt, using it for certs on my home network.

Based on above, where might be the best place to start?

Now that Bluesky's open to anyone, if you head over there I'm at bsky.app/profile/jeffgeerling. — but I still post to Twitter, Threads, and Mastodon too. So pick your poison.

@aallan @ostueker @Raspberry_Pi And here's the older packaging... sorry, the board is on a functional Pi, so I really didn't want to pull it apart. But the boards look identical, as far as I can tell.

@aallan @ostueker @Raspberry_Pi Greetings, as requested, see additional photos.

Let's start with the latest purchase. Attached are photos of the packaging and the board.

@technotim Thanks Tim. My entire DNS and certificate setup is a mess... which I suspect will require me to start from scratch 🤔

Not ideal.. but I just want it sorted. Have watched numerous videos, and I find yours easy to follow.

Onward 😊

Two RaspberryPi POE Hats bought not too far apart from the same supplier but with very different packaging?

Fake, real? One has made in PRC on it, and the other doesn't?

@technotim Thanks Tim. I currently use PiHole, so would traefik replace PiHole?

Greetings @technotim

Considering implementing a 'simple' reverse proxy solution to enable local certificate management. Is there a particular reverse proxy solution you might recommend? Some say Nginx proxy manager, thoughts?

@geerlingguy I see your posts on Mastodon no problem... wonder what's going on 🤔

2023-12-29

@geerlingguy Thanks for replying Jeff. Interesting... just checked, and I am following you on bluesky, but don't see any of your posts?

2023-12-28

@geerlingguy I have pretty much moved to Bluesky. Hope to see you there sometime soon 👍

Hope some electronics folks smarter than me can help me understand an unusual problem with the circuit board in the picture.

The white areas on the photos show where a fan connects. The fan shows strange behaviour (not working) just ticking every few seconds. And the red power LED flashes. The fan output appears to be AC, when the fan is DC?

So, my question.. Where on the board would you suggest a problem might exist?

I may have made a video about something that uses radar, but no one loves.

@geerlingguy @rhasspy What do you call a boomerang that doesn't come back? A stick 😋

2023-11-30

@geerlingguy Full blown Australian comedy gold... a kids show with subtle adult humour... bloody bonzer mate! 🤣

@technotim 👀 you said you would fix this 😋

Interesting information about Bluetooth attacks. Wondering what could be the biggest downside for us mere mortals?

Unboxing my new Creality K1 Max.

Yes, I should have checked before purchasing... but why would Creality put the filament holder at the rear of the printer? Just why?

Has anyone developed a hack to mount the filament holder on the side?
