Lazy tech enthusiast from Siberia. Really like #fediverse. Big fan of Mindustry. Favorite anime - JoJo part 6. Can do some programming on:
Rust, JS, C, C++, Go, Haskell.

@dimtion That also means that you can create blazingly fast layouts in rust by the way.

@dimtion looks like ot executes layout_(name of layout), for example layout_go for go. So if you'll have layout_new, you'll be able to create new layout.

@dimtion from what I can see, layouts are hardcoded shell scripts in stdlib.

EDIT: Completely wrong, there is a way, although I doubt that it's intended one.

@jpaskaruk no guarantees, but dropping fonts into .local/share/fonts and doing fc-cache could work.

Crazy, extremely questionable theory: once court will force Google to sell Chrome, all those big guys supporting Supporters of Chromium-based browsers, would try to make a case why selling to anyone else would not fix the problem. Microsoft wouldn't want Meta's advertising get benefit of Chrome's users's data, and vice versa. And then there's very convenient Chromium-related initiative, there's no case to be made against it, and they got financial support to possibly buy Chrome.

What an interesting time for this decision. This is the year when court will decide whether Google will be forced to sell Chrome. And in that year The Linux Foundation launches fund to support chromium-based browsers. It just feels like there's something happening, but there's no concrete evidence to prove or disprove it. And VP of Chrome is on board, along with Opera and Microsoft. There's no direct signs that this is evil initiative, but there's feeling. (1/2)

@phoenix_1312 It will fully delete app, but some apps create files in other directories, so configs could remain.

@WoodooProd
You probably need something like puppy linux.
Although you would probably be able to squeeze arch installation there, but you'll probably need to use something like openbox for base of your OS.
Also you could go with little bit more weird and install Alpine, it's pretty good lightweight distro, but it uses musl and openrc instead of glibc and systemd, so there could be incompatibilities with some software.

What's the post character count limit for your instance on Mastodon?

Meaning, when you make a post here on Mastodon, how many characters per post can you type?

For example, currently #AllThingsTech has the default Mastodon 500 character count limit.

If your instance has more than a 1,000 character count limit, please comment and let me know.

Please BOOST for maximum exposure to the #Fediverse

Lost wifi and the internet access, raving
Dancing with no net
Fell in love with the temper of skylight, grass and the fresh air

@rmi that's meta-irony, therefore Meta

@CoachMark Yep, pretty nice friday evening here.

@CoachMark It's nowhere near morning where I live, but good morning anyway!

@majorlinux Just imagine some guy carefully hacking you just to post some Sims post.
"Oh, yeah, I'm in. Well, now should I use it to post some crazy shit? maybe use it as a part of some spam campaign? Or just outright sell? Ah, fuck it, will just post some Sims shit, come what may."

me irl

A catgirl loudly, and adamantly saying "I LIKE WOMEN!!" and then in smaller, less pronounced form "and the occasional man."

@jackeric @MxVerda @stux You completely missed the point. I'm not saying "don't ban Stevie", I'm saying "don't ban guys that don't ban Stevie because it pressures people into banning not based on their judgement, but based on peer pressure, and that isn't great thing to have"

@MxVerda @jackeric @stux Just don't meet with Stevie and spread the information if what he did is that bad. But pressuring everyone to not talk to Stevie because of your opinion is unethical, even if what Stevie did was outright evil.

@jackeric @stux I'm just saying, banning instances just on basis of them not banning, let's say, Threads, have those "Don't talk to Stevie, or you'll be uncool and no one will be talking with you" vibes. Even if Stevie is an asshole from your point of view, you should let other people decide if they want to talk with Stevie without pressuring them, otherwise that's not very ethical to say the least.
