Rule of thumb: if someone responds to an ethics question by complaining the project wouldn't be possible if ethics guardrails have an influence on the project, then that's a red flag about the project & maybe the person too.

Blessed #AshWednesday to those who do the thing. Today I wrote a sermon about #justice & Bartimaeus (with much ref to Erin Raffety & @jpuddlegoose). Because I'm not good at #church, I didn't realise I'm speaking on the first Sunday in Lent, and now I feel like I haven't said enough about, well, Lent. But it's what the church asked for. Justice is for all seasons, right? Technically I've given up church for Lent (no, really) but I forgot I'm preaching twice this month. God has a sense of humour.

Asked the new #bing about solutions to the war in #Ukraine. It proposed something and when asked again, it came up with more "creative" solutions. Three seconds later it deleted its last output again and tried to steer my interest towards trivia facts about hollywood.

there are exactly two types of submission vibes in edited volumes:

1) Can your double/half the length of your paper, address these other issues that take you into wildly different directions, change the conceptual framework, and individually reference all other contributions forthcoming in this volume (which you cannot read because they are also currently being written) and submit the manuscript written in your blood by MIDNIGHT (of last Friday)

2) Whatever, really, this is all cool, due date Oct 1 but really anytime before Easter 2030 is fine.

now i have a stomach ache, no capacity to eat an actual meal, AND do not have the nutrients i need in my body. rinse and repeat.
