Hazel (she/her) - transfem software developer. [ Admin of TransFem.Social ]
Hello! I'm Hazel - a transfem foxgirl programmer. My interests are LGBT+ / queer life, programming, retrocomputing, anime, PC gaming, and TTRPGs. I'm also very interested in the future of federated social media and follow that topic closely. Feel free to reach out if you'd like to chat about any of these - this girl is a nerd and proud of it!

Follows are locked (meaning that they require manual approval), but feel free to send a request! I only ask that you have a bio and/or a few public posts for a basic vibe check.

Please don't flirt with me without specific consent.

Anime-style drawing of a light-skinned fox girl with orange-brown hair and light-blue eyes, wearing an oversized black tee shirt that hangs off one shoulder to reveal the straps of a white bra or undershirt. Her hair extends down past her back and out of frame, and is adored all around with small white flowers. She smiles at the viewer with a soft, contented expression.

Are the majority of trans people in this space early in transition? (First few years).

Kind of seems any online space is that way but could just be they post more about being trans and transition.

It’s not a bad thing but it’s always nice to see people that started transitioning longer ago, being someone that started my transition 11 years ago.

So when did you start your transition? (Can be social or medical or whatever).

Feel free to comment

It's interesting how a little bit of research and references can change self-perception.

It sounds like absolute bullshit, but there are studies since the 70s that professional programmers only average ten lines of code a day.

I have to wonder how much of their time is taken up by bureaucratic horseshit, but I know how much I do in a day that still feels like I'm slacking when just doing card effects and definitions.

The other tidbit I looked into yesterday is that each character in Slay the Spire has just a little over 60 cards, so that's roughly my baseline for unique cards in my own game. I'm already halfway there and still have to do stack manipulators, logic cards, resource generators/consumers, and some of the true 'enablers' of the gimmick my game points the player towards.

I ... might actually know what I'm doing?

dumb question - you know those cold drip towers for cold brew coffee? Yeah, well, I assume most of them are made out of glass. Do y'all know if any of them are made out of acrylic? asking for a friend

Used in std::pin::pin!, it effectively increases the stack lifetime of a value up one frame:

let foo = {
  super let foo = 123;
  foo
};
This is literally only useful in the pin macro, or in user-defined macros that pin something with std::pin::pin!, and want to return the user back the value they passed in instead of requiring them to define the identifier that the pinned value will use at the macro callsite (IE let foo = some_macro!(); vs. some_macro!(foo);)

Interestingly, it's gated by the
super_let feature- which has no issue linked, and doesn't warn you that it's a standard library/compiler internal, as with the more_maybe_bounds feature.

Not really sure what to make of it but I can't even find an RFC for this feature which is bizarre, though the logistics of lifetime extension appear to be mentioned in a few...

@d4rkness @ahrienby @puppygirlhornypost2 yeah, the bots have a double-impact of harm against legitimate mutual aid:
1. Anyone who falls for them sends their limited money to a scammer instead of someone who actually needs it.
2. It reduces trust in mutual aid as a whole. The more spam a person sees, the less likely they are to trust a mutual aid post.

Remember when users revolted after Apple pushed an unwanted U2 album onto 500 million devices years ago?

Well, it seems Apple HQ *has* forgotten... because it's just done something similar.

This time it's a notification from Apple Wallet promoting the new Formula 1 movie with Brad Pitt. Apple poured a whole load of $$$ into the movie, and maybe that's why they decided to send out a push notification earlier today to millions of iPhones.

Unwanted Apple Wallet notification

I'm a barista. My coworkers know I'm a furry. Here's a collection of things that have been said on the job.
"Wash your paws, Daisy."
"A pup cup! I make the puppiest cups." "Well, at least there's one pup involved, since this one is for a human child."
"Daisy, go wash your paws."
"What's that, girl? You see another dog?"
"I'm not a human yet this morning." "Well yeah, I thought you were a dog."
"Daisy, fetch!"
"Time to wash your paws, Daisy."
"Sorry I bumped your tail!"
"I'm not doing that unless you have food." "What?" "You know, like... a treat or something. Because I'm a dog." "Oh-OH, no, you gotta do this now. Belly rubs later, Daisy."

Update:
Coworker: "I'm not even a human today. I'm a loaf."
Me: "I'm a dog."
Coworker: Pats me on the shoulder
"Good girl, Daisy."
This is my life. I cannot believe this is my fucking life.
