@lukemcgee I was contemplating closing my account on the bird site, earlier on today. I can't quite bring myself to cut the cord yet.
Lego-loving marketeer, ex-parent blogger now posting occasionally about camping. Might cheer up in a week or two.

What a day, oh boy.
A photo from my Thursday morning walk. One good thing to come from this week’s rail strikes (and the subsequent week WFH) was my daily sunrise walks - something I really miss when I have to go into London. Fingers crossed that 2023 allows for a few more of them.
Happy New Year, toot’ers. God knows what 2023 has in store - brace yourself…
There is very little that couldn’t be improved by the addition of Paul Whitehouse and Bob Mortimer.
Merry Christmas, new Mastodon friends. Please enjoy this photo of our beautiful but low-key Christmas decorations, hung in the splendor of our delightful Tudor home.
LadBaby have officially destroyed any nostalgia the music charts once held for me.
Lovely moonrise this morning 😍
Kevin McCloud is a criminally underrated TV presenter, who should be presenting far more then just architectural TV shows
It’s not “clever AI art”, it’s sneaky digital plagiarism, stealing and repurposing artwork from real world artists. Stop falling for it
2005: Rupert Murdoch paid $580m for Myspace.
2009: he sold it in $35m.
2008: Bebo was sold for $850m, to AOL. The founders later bought it back for $1m. It was regarded as one of the worst deals ever made in the dot-com era.
2013: Yahoo paid $1.1bn for Tumblr. 2019: they sold it in $3m.
Elon Musk paid $44bn for Twitter. If history has taught us anything it's that this isn't going to end well… when there wasn't a viable business model in the first place.
@jimp ahhh, good intel - thank you!
@jimp i’m pretty sure they do, yes - I literally copied the example they gave me.
Mastodon experts, I need your help: I have had two websites listed on my profile for 2-3 weeks now, and have added links on both back to my profile. Why aren’t they showing up as verified? What do I need to do to get it to register?? Help please! #maston #verification
This has been an absolute VINTAGE series of Taskmaster and I love every single contestant.
@DoctorDalty The only downside is that the reading has meant my podcast listening has really fallen behind.
At the start of Lockdown 2020, I announced “oh well, at least I can catch up on my reading list”. Fast forward two years and I had read exactly 2 books…! So at the start of 2022, and with a commute back on the agenda, I promised myself I would use the year to read a few more books. And unlike 2020, I actually nailed it this year. 11 months in and I have read at least 27 books and counting.
Oh mastodon. Why do you keep 502’ing my images?! 😟
