FYI for those of you interested in #iot - there is now an IOT tagpush bot in addition to @homeassistant@tagpush.app

Tagpush bots are less hassle than the old @a.gup.pe bots because instead of having to mention the bot to get your post boosted, all you have to do is follow the bot and any messages you post with its tag will be boosted. You'll see what the bot boosts and not have to do anything special to have it boost other than add the hashtags you'd be adding anyway.

The @iot bot boosts anything its followers post with #iot or #InternetOfThings

The @homeassistant@tagpush.app bot does the same thing for the #homeassistant tag.

@homeassistant Based on the feedback I've just ordered a few Sonoff TRVZB.

@mathismatiker @homeassistant I'm using a CUL USB Stick to control the thermostats via homegear. I don't think that device supports homematic IP as well.

Home Assistant boosted:

@darthvader42 @homeassistant In that case (and if you have an antenna which is capable of both HomeMatic and HomeMatic IP), I personally would go for the newer HomeMatic IP valves. I have only one of them, but it seems also to be working just fine.

Despite the "IP" in the name, they don't need any cloud access at all.

@darthvader42 @homeassistant
I ditched my Nest and got Honeywell TH6320ZW2007
It’s non-cloud and has Zwave. It runs on battery but if I had one more wire in the bundle from the furnace I could run it from DC and battery backup optional

@mathismatiker @homeassistant oh sorry for the misunderstanding. I don't want to replace them. Instead I need one more thermostat for a radiator that is still manually controlled (and very rarely used).

Home Assistant boosted:

@darthvader42 @homeassistant May I ask why you want to replace the HomeMatic TRV devices? I also have a lot of them, and they work nicely with Home Assistant (using OpenCCU)...

@darthvader42 @homeassistant Jumpin in int this question.
As I am not a big fan of battery swapping I was reading about the stuff from micropelt.com/ , but their wireless technology is not that wide spread.
Actually I am thinking about Thread-based actuators especially in terms oft "future proof".

@homeassistant ... and must not have a cloud dependency. Local everything rules for smarthome.

Hey #homeassistant community. Which thermostats are you recommending?
I do have a bunch of old Homematic hm-cc-rt-dn.
The thermostat should work with zigbee, zwave or wifi (preferrable zigbee) and play nicely with home assistant.

@Minty95 @homeassistant ah, thank you.
I also found some mentions that apparently you can reflash those purifiers with esphome 😲

If you have a #Nest 1 or Nest 2 that were bricked, nolongerevil.com/ will give them new life.

Sorry, almost forgot - I use the Philips AirPurifier add-on from HACS - I believe this one github.com/ruaan-deysel/ha-phi (I have just woken up and will need to go to work shortly, otherwise I would have checked a bit more thoroughly)

In regards to their app, I used it once to configure it and then completely wiped it (and reset all the permissions prior) from my phone.

If there is another brand or model that is better or more suited I'd love to hear it as well :)

So, to answer some questions: yes, Philips is relabeled stuff nowadays. Yes their app isn't amazing. Yes I used that app once - I believe in guest mode to connect it to the WiFi and after that *only* used HomeAssistant. I have it connected to a separate IoT WiFi and have not seen any weird connections *yet*

Model is AC0951.

Fun fact, you *can* enable the AQI-sensor to run all the time and not only when the device is on. I'd have to check where I did that though.

@Aprazeth @homeassistant any idea whether the Philips one can be integrated with / controlled by homeassistant?

Home Assistant boosted:

@viq
You could try checking tuya stuff, and use the localtuya addon in hacs.

Other option is a Philips one, I dont recall the model I have here but could look it up. It is a smaller model though.
