The Czech President #Pavel made an unexpected visit to the Ukrainian city of #Odessa today.
He discussed developments on the battlefield, support and reconstruction.
In the evening, #Russia carried out another drone attack on Odessa. The President is out of danger.

It calls for more military aid, defence investment, NATO support, tougher sanctions on russia, and fast-tracking Ukraine’s EU membership.

🇱🇹 Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda outlined a plan to boost aid to Ukraine and European security: NATO membership must remain Ukraine’s security guarantee, Russia must face justice for war crimes, €10B in urgent arms funding, seizure of frozen Russian assets, and fast-tracking Ukraine’s EU accession by 2030. "Ukraine’s security is Europe’s security. We must act together," he said.
"Today, I am introducing the 'FREEDOM FIRST LEND-LEASE ACT' to grant President Trump the flexibility to send victory weapons to our partners, including Ukraine, to deter war criminal Putin, as Biden should have done long ago. Bring Russia to the table through American strength," Representative Joe Wilson announced.

All options are open today - Syria as a state broken into factions that will fight among themselves to varying degrees. Syria as a federation of #Shiite coastal areas, #Sunni center and #Kurdish north...
Or a unified Syria led by a #democratic #secular government that will be based on respect for human rights and peace treaties with neighbors (#Israel).
One thing is certain, Syria will change.

Their commander #Golani is trying to keep his "image" under control, but it is hard to imagine that he would, eg., sign a peace agreement with #Israel as future president (maybe?) and thus bring peace and stability to the regions...
The other forces in the north and east are the fairly autonomous #SDF (the American-backed opposition in the Kurdish areas). The question of autonomy, independence, or inclusion of the #Kurds will certainly be areas of friction in the future in Syria...

Although they (#HTS) have acted very pragmatically in recent years and, compared to others, relatively liberally and non-violently, with (among #Islamists) unusual tolerance of minorities, and as experienced mercenaries, they are better allies than enemies for the entire opposition. And it is HTS who we see at the forefront of the opposition's advance to the south...

Most of the opposition's successes can be attributed to the motley group Free Syrian Army (#FSA) cooperating with a number of its allies. The FSA has a democratic and secular political program, but in the fight against #Assad it cooperates with a fairly strong Islamist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (#HTS). Although it has fought against other jihadists (such as the Islamic State and other factions that emerged from Al-Qaeda in the region), it does not have a secular program itself.

Not to mention the continued encirclement of #Damascus from the south and east and the outbreak of uprisings in various neighborhoods of the capital.
The combination of total unpreparedness, desertions, negotiations and the absolute impotence of #Hezbollah, Iranian militias and the #Russian army to react means that Assad's chances of remaining in power in #Damascus are close to zero after today. This is the end of #Assad.

Unbelievable! #Homs fell in one day. The disgrace of the Axis (#Iran-#Hezbollah-#Russia) could not be greater.
The #Assad ´s dictatorship lost control tonight (without any huge battles, sieges, massacres and heavy civilian losses...) over the strategic city of Homs. This is the most important crossroads in Syria connecting the capital Damascus with the rest of Syria and the east with the west. The speed of the collapse of the regime forces is unbelievable: Loosing 20 km/day...

It is not yet clear if this new boss #Hashem #Safieddine was also killed.

Russian media reports that the Millerovo airfield in the Rostov region was attacked by 20 drones, claiming all were intercepted. However, NASA's fire map shows significant fires both on the airfield and nearby.
The Ukrainian Special Operations Forces, along with units from the Main Intelligence Directorate and the Security Service of Ukraine, attacked an ammunition depot in Kotluban. The depot was used by Russian forces to store and upgrade missile and artillery weapons, including Iranian-made ones. A new shipment of Iranian missiles had reportedly just arrived before the strike.
