I really hope a company oversteps so bad with their new privacy/terms of service AI clauses that they get sued into oblivion. Its getting ridiculous.

My impostor syndrome is really hitting this week.

I’ve said it before, but I need to say again that I take it personally when community conferences choose a fun or familiar location over one that is safe for their LGBTQIA+ and even women attendees at a time of historic, concerted legislative and criminal attacks against us. It tells me absolutely all I need to know about your leadership and care for the diverse cybersecurity community. There are plenty of affordable venues in places that aren’t banning emergency healthcare and harassing people for using the bathroom.

And to be clear, though I validate the fear those folks have about lack of public safety and due to that just want the police as they were, they were also very much in the minority last night

Like I didnt toot the rest as I was just a wheel of emotions. However even for those who disagreed with me and wanted the 3rd precinct to be rebuilt, the bottom line from that meeting was that we all wanted to see change from the city that hasnt happened (even if we went about how to get there in different ways).

Literally the focus is on the building tonight, but they only have one page to talk about the project, its VERY minimally scoped, and the person who could go into detail on the pros and cons of each of the two sites (which includes keeping the precinct where it was), isnt here.

I'm sitting in this 3rd precinct listening session (aka the precinct that burned after one of their officers killed a man) and of course the person from the city is the person that has had MULTIPLE reports of racial discrimination against her. I am not happy with this choice.

Really grinds my gears that 38th and Chicago Re-envisioning project is having Block to Block meetings, but the only comms on them are a postcard sent in the mail. Nothing on the Re-envisioning project page, and nothing from my Councilwoman (who's also the President in of Minneapolis City Council).

Today is so bittersweet as literally the state that raised me made the worst anti-trans legislation in the country (that includes forcibly detransitioning minors), while living proudly in a state that has representatives and leaders who literally say "you are safe here."
