Looked up the symbolism of Mammoths (Mastodons, Elephants, etc.)

totatema.wordpress.com/2012/05

I'm pleased that they symbolize something I feel in so much resonance with.

The Web Publications work over at the W3C remains utterly depressing to me. Mainly because I remain convinced that the IDPF/W3C merger guarantees that it will devolve into a reimplementation of ePub, which isn't really what browser vendors want (who want nicer ways for making the regular web publication-friendly).

So browser vendors will ignore it.

And Amazon will ignore it.

And it'll just be a rehash of the current, limited ePub ecosystem nobody likes.

@jansegers @Euphoria
and I've recently had some Toki Pona conversations here on Mastodon... and on Discord

It's German indeed ...

Ulrich Matthias, Esperanto - The New Latin for the Church and for Ecumenism

[...] and Toki Pona (2001) by Christian Richard, Canada. As often as not these languages are invented for the amusement of the authors, but those who hope that their work may find general acceptance soon learn how difficult it is to attract even one other speaker for the new language.

@Euphoria @jansegers

It's amusing to see the confusion of this author about the sex change of the creator of Toki Pona

every single edition has a bit more or less information about Toki Pona and his creator, but Ulrich Matthias is one of the first people to even mention Toki Pona in print.

jan Sonja finally published an official Toki Pona book in 2014 ... under the name Sonja Lang

but I'm quite sure the langage took hold thanks to jan Pije 's effort to create a course.

Toki Pona
Toki Pona is a constructed language, first published online in mid-2001. It was designed by translator and linguist Sonja Lang (formerly Sonja Elen Kisa) of Toronto.

Toki Pona is a minimal language. Like a pidgin, it focuses on simple concepts and elements that are relatively universal among cultures. Lang designed Toki Pona to express maximal meaning with minimal complexity. The language has 14 phonemes and 120 root words. It is not designed as an international auxiliary language but is instead inspired by Taoist philosophy, among other things.

The language is designed to shape the thought processes of its users, in the style of the Sapir–Whorf hypothesis, in Zen-like fashion.
