Tinkering with dotfiles is zen.

Tore down my neovim config to the studs and started re-building everything up incrementally. I am *thrilled* with how much the neovim ecosystem has grown. It’s incredible what’s been done in just a few years

He was on my very short list of folks I wanted to find at a Comicon, as his legend and reputation profoundly preceded him. As a kid collecting comics in the early 90's this man's work was *everywhere*. His Marvel and Valiant contributions were outsized and his legacy will reflect as such.

Success #1 - Xubuntu live CD (DVD if we're being pedantic) was successful. Managed to get into XFCE and install the Phoronix test suite.

Was keen on getting a baseline reading of all the hardware before I replace the CPU, up the ram, and install 2 SATA SSD's.

Waiting on some new hardware to be delivered before I can take this thing apart and do the thing(s)

A key part of the New York City mayoral races was Ranked Choice Voting.

I'm not seeing many news articles mention this yet (correct me if I'm wrong though!).

Ranked choice let's us vote first for who we actually want.... and then put in backup votes for "good enough" candidates and allows us to compromise and find common ground.

It destroys the concepts of "lesser of two evils" and "throwing away your vote".

I hope we see Ranked Choice voting everywhere.

@esparta downloading this now just to try it. In the meantime, I DID manage to get a recent xubuntu iso booted. Small miracle.

Problem #X (evergreen problem) - I'm stubborn af and won't let this damn thing defeat me.

Problem #1 - this thing won't boot with current gen USB thumb drives. It could be the USB 3.x vs 2.x ports? Maybe EFI boot?

Had to order DVD RW discs to burn a live dvd. 🤷

Problem #2 - most distros are larger than 4.7GB.

Problem #3 - Elementary OS live cd won't boot to X.
