A low spot on a brick walkway by Boston Commons where a shallow pool of water has collected and a couple ducks seem to have claimed it as their won. In the background a booth is being setup and a person to the right is reflected in pool, wheeling a cart with more goods.

Whirlwind trip to Boston on Friday, back Saturday. I met oncologist down there, while kid came down separately after school via bus, walking, and subways under his own navigation and planning skills. Lots of walking and trains and exploring.

By the Children’s hospital, a metal table where each of the four legs splay out and then has a metal swivel chair on it, so the whole thing is one unit, painted in a bright yellow.

A study in contrasts with bright yellow dump truck loaded with gravel driving off left side of frame, the cap of a front loader behind it and the edges of an extra bucket on right side, with concrete lane dividers around edges of this dirt area. Behind it a thin strip of trees (sumac?) and nature, a long section of black wall with intricate geometric artwork presumably spray painted? It is on the side of one level of highway, the edges of which are painted in a variety of colors and topped with short fence, going up higher is another layer of roadway, all unpainted cement and peaking over the edge are the tops of cars zipping by. Behind it and a little higher is a building that has the words “AC HOTEL INK BLOCK” (AC isn’t visible in this frame) for no obvious reason. A scattering of other buildings behind and to the sides of this. Reviewing this on a map shows the strip of plant life and colored murals are probably part of Fourth Street Park, which is next to the train tracks leading into South Station.
While the image is almost all chaos and cement, there’s a thin strip of nature and attempted calmness that is probably appreciated by some.

@TimKStanton It was pretty violent for a while and power got blasted at pole down road. Just went out and everything looks ok, lawn is soggy and there’s still good sized hail in grass after half inch of rain. Chicken put itself to bed in coop.

Line of severe storms up and down Connecticut river valley.

Flash of light out window, immediate thunder crash. I look out window to see chicken standing in middle of yard, stunned, then run like hell to the woods.
