This is one of my favourite wildlife photos that I've taken so far. It's a young crow from spring 2021. The crow was quite content to sit on a branch and observe their surroundings while I photographed them.

I'm very happy with the cover of my book, Evolution and the Machinery of Chance: Philosophy, Probability, and Scientific Practice in Biology. And I have page proofs to go through as soon as I get back from PSA. Yayy! (I think you have to click on the image to see more than the house sparrow image in the center. Still figuring out how to muck about with aspect ratios for different social media setups.)

It's effectively building and running your own website from scratch - with the costs involved in that. Biggest cost/difficulty is finding a server to run it on, either building your own, or paying for hosting.

Then all the web-admin stuff on top of that.

Did you have a methodology section when writing your initial proposal? What did you write there? Looking for examples.

2022-11-10

@Simonverwer

Depends on what the other sections are, so what's already been covered. In mine, it was useful to have it as a section where I could introduce "In practice, this is how I think it's going to go down." The other sections covered the content in a more conceptual way, so in the methodology I was like "I'm going to need to engage with this literature in order to ..., and I'd also like to gain a greater fluency in that literature in order to ..." Basically, the first person 'how'.

@Neuromantic

That'd be great! Thanks, if it's got something, I'll track it down.

Oof. I'm reading Aristotle to get a handle on Deleuze. Reading Hegel to get a handle on Aristotle to get a handle on Deleuze sounds like quite an epic adventure.

Any recommendations (books, papers) on dialectics in Aristotle, or the Topics more generally?
