#bugzilla release soon... I'm dealing with a leaking hot water heater and a partially-flooded basement though, so there's going to be a small delay.
Fascinating both for what it says about dev & what it says about statistics:
A gamedev realized Linux users were just 5.8% of their sales, but represented 38% of bug reports.
Then they looked at those numbers closer, and realized. Linux users were not experiencing more bugs. Almost none of the Linux-user bugs were Linux-related. Linux users were simply *more likely to file bugs*.
Their conclusion: A linux port pays for itself bc it nerdsnipes ppl into giving u free QA
I manage an organization's Mastodon account. I'm considering farming out social media management to another person, but I don't want to blanket hand over the password (want to be able to revoke their access and hand it to someone else if needed later). Does Mastodon support such a thing?
To celebrate 25 years of @bugzilla I prepared a poster for the occasion. I wanted to reference the name of the project itself referencing monster movies, so this is what I came up with
@rwba @kentparkstreet @NPR based on the tweets on it so far it looks like it was just reposting Twitter. Except for the post listing other social media, it hasn't posted anything since they quit Twitter.
@rwba @kentparkstreet where do I find their presence on Mastodon? Every account I've found so far appears to have been third party mirrors of the Twitter accounts, so they all dried up when the Twitter accounts did.
I've finally gotten the legal side taken care of for being able to accept donations for the #Bugzilla project. Just need to work out the accounting and technical side now. Soon!
@hardison I'm guessing this means you didn't read my DM to you from yesterday before you logged out. Let me see if I can figure out how to DM on here.
@asadotzler @saltcedar I wouldn't be surprised if it still has the website on it and it comes up serving it when you get it to boot up.
IIRC it had 4 sibling servers that went to Mozilla after they moved out. I'm not remembering all the names but I remember mecha and axolotl. I'm thinking axolotl was ftp.mozilla.org and mecha had Bugzilla, Bonsai, Despot, etc running on it. The last of those Sun boxes wasn't decommissioned until Mozilla moved out of Market Post Tower.
