Das mit der Farce vom staatlichen Klimaschutz hat sich jetzt sowieso endgültig erledigt, egal wie sehr der Pöbel zum Verzicht aufgerufen wird, um die CO2-Bilanz von Langstreckenraketen und Kampfflugzeugen zu kompensieren.

Dafür wird es dann wohl für die meisten Menschen massive Sozialkürzungen, höhere Renteneintrittsalter, längere Arbeitszeiten und Prekarisierung geben, weil man muss ja sparen und als NATO-Staat Anreize für das Kanonenfutter schüren.

Hauptsache bei Rheinmetall, Thales, Diehl, Palantir und den anderen Rüstungsprofiteuren kann man noch fette Parties feiern, wenn die Börse wieder positiv auf die Bombardierung irgendeines Landes mit Ressourcen im Globalen Süden reagiert hat.

Und wem das nicht passt und dagegen demonstriert, soll dann wohl das Extra-Budget für "sicherheitsrelevante Infrastruktur" im Sinne des durchmilitarisierten Polizeistaats hautnah erfahren. Weil beim Aufrüsten geht es doch um Werte und Freiheit und so... Ganz sicher...

Maybe, as a bank, you should not be using a random library taken from the internet, with a single maintainer and some 100 stars, and make it a critical dependency of your banking operations.

Maybe, as a bank, your IT should write and maintain such a library and open source it.

Maybe, as a bank, you should not continue to use the first library, and do the second thing after the first library was able to take down critical parts of your infra the first time.

Because we live in a society, and as a bank, you should be contributing to it, too.

passt da ganz gut. Hier am 28-Jan-2011 mit einer Lumix DMC-TZ2.

Das Hotel besteht aus Stockwerk-Lagen, die rostrot verblendet und weiß umrahmt sind, und aufeinander geschichtet an der Südseite immer weiter zurück weichen, dabei aber auch immer breiter werden.

Auf diese Weise entsteht eine Struktur, die nach Süden hin die Balkonfläche maximiert und pyramidenartig ansteigt, während die Nordseite ein steiles Kliff ist.

Das Hotel ist von der Westseite genen einen fast ganz blauen Himmel fotografiert und das Licht kommt von 14 Uhr. Das erzeugt interessante Schatten und Kontraste und bringt das Blau des Himmels gegen das Rostrot der Verblendung zur Geltung.

three gotchas:

1. cmd file.txt > file.txt will delete the contents of file.txt

some people use set -o noclobber (in bash/zsh) to avoid this

But I just have "never read from and redirect to the same file" seared into my memory.

2. sudo echo blah > /root/file.txt doesn't write to /root/file.txt as root. Instead, do:

echo blah | sudo tee /root/file.txt

or

sudo sh -c 'echo blah > /root/file.txt'

3. cmd 2>&1 > file.txt doesn't write both stdout and stderr to file.txt. Instead, do:

cmd > file.txt 2>&1

panel 3: cat vs <

I almost always prefer to do:

cat file.txt | cmd

instead of

cmd < file.txt

it usually works fine & it feels better to me

using cat can be slower if it's a GIANT file though

panel 4: &> and &|

some shells support &> and &| to redirect/pipe both stdout and stderr

(also some shells use |& instead of &|)

My first paid software development job was on accessibility software. I remember visiting a user to help set up our code, and the sheer joy he had at being able to communicate more quickly than he had been able to for years.

Seeing the effort put into improving modern Linux accessibility is heartwarming. There's been almost 20 years of almost nobody caring. It's important. It's worthwhile.

Say thank you to the people doing that work. Stop amplifying the people saying that work isn't happening.
