Vendor should also provide extensive documentation (how it works, how to build, what are the dependencies, exchange messages format if communicating with a server, etc.).

And if code is provided, it must not be only open but Free so it can be modified (to fix bugs or add features).

btw i'm currently looking for (remote) work within the EU! most likely as a backend or embedded software dev

i have ~6 years of professional experience in backend software, with occasional firmware dev and even hardware design (+ about as many years of hobbyist exp on top of that)

besides software i have broad knowledge covering most of STEM; any position that requires/benefits from broader knowledge would be my pref, but i'm looking for *anything* rn
