@jcrabapple
Hi,
I'm reaching out about moving my Mastodon account from another instance to dmv.community.

I'd rather not create another account. I'm a resident of PG County, MD. I think I'd enjoy being a part of your community rather than the huge instance I'm on now.

Please let me know if this is acceptable and how to proceed.

Thanks,
-Steve Loudermilk

Friends, we must rise up in protest for this misguided entertainment industry trend.

We DO NOT need more dystopian, apocalyptic movies telling us humanity is on its way out.

We DO need more thoughtful, intelligent movies about humanity's promise. We need to see people working together and solving problems.

Remember Guinan 's quote from Star Trek:

"When a man is convinced he's going to die tomorrow, he'll probably find a way to make it happen."

Shameful, top story in the WaPo this morning giving Trump favorable coverage. 😠

I guess Bezos and his mob don't care if our Democracy falls. He's got money.

I am not as convinced all this positivity will translate into election victories in 2024, but it’s sure nice to get the emotions high of reading about it.

I think we all deserve it.

The wait is finally over. From 2024, USB-C will be the common standard for electronic devices in the EU – and we have already seen the impact!

It means
🔌The same charger for all phones, tablets and cameras
⚡ Harmonised fast-charging technology
🔄Reduced e-waste

One charger to rule them all.

Now, a reality.

We have to completely rethink and training in this country. An incident like this should make it obvious.

Yeah. So what's your point?

(I'm sorry for the sarcasm. I just figure her lack of integrity became obvious to most everyone quite some time ago).

NFL coaches today are so impatient. It takes some time to learn from mistakes to become a really good QB.

Today, coaches just want to draft/trade for, their "franchise" QB and start winning right away.

HOF Terry Bradshaw was the overall #1 selection in the 1970 draft. He only started 4 games his first year and threw 26 interceptions.

HOF Tom Brady was drafted in the 6th round in 2000. He started 0 games his first year and passed for 6 yds in his only appearance.

The Civil War _was_ about "states' rights". Specifically, the claim by some states that they had the right to enslave other human beings and the other states saying "you absolutely do not". The slaveholding states felt so strongly about their "right" to enslave other humans that they went to war over it. This is not complicated and anyone, politician or otherwise, who can't or won't say this explicitly should not be in office or elected to one.

Oh come on. Let's show a little optimism, please.
