Got bored. Invented the Merseyrail trolley problem.

Two tracks diverge at a central point. A little person holds a lever in one hand and waves with the other. A double decker bus with 5 people tied to the roof trundles by.

There’s no trolley because it’s a Sunday. 5 people are tied to a rail replacement bus which will drop them off two miles from where they need to be. You can do nothing.

@musiciankate @TheBreadmonkey @kajer @JackTheCat the phrase you want to search is probably "net promoter score" which splits respondents into detractors (1-6), neutral (7-8) or promotors (9-10).

Following the announcement about the shutdown of Pocket, I've spun up an instance of Karakeep, very impressed by the ease of setup as well as the flexibility and customization karakeep.app/ #selfhosted

@th I was lucky enough to see a few native species in the UK A few years ago.

3 photos, the top one showing an upturned blue chair at the side of a dirt track, the middle snowing a black office chair at the side of a paved path and the bottom showing a damaged white plastic chair impaled on a lamppost by a hedge

@shodansafari really hoping this is someone's model railway rather than an actual railway 🚂

Spectacularly detailed changelog from Brother for their printer firmware

A screenshot from the Brother website showing notes for the last 10 releases of their printer firmware - virtually every one just says "Improvement to help with the performance of the machine"

I can't remember if I found this here or on Bluesky but I just had to share it here anyway

The "This is fine" meme but with two panels: one with the original image associated with f(x), and the other associated with the inverse of f(x) but with a single flame in the chair and multiple dogs around the room instead of flames.

The "Butterfly Man" meme drawing of a pale-skinned dark-haired man with glasses, pointing to a butterfly with his hand. The butterfly is captioned "SIGNAL" and text at the bottom says "IS THIS A SCIF?"

@Edent sure 👍 screenshot of the Microsoft iOS app here. Apple passwords hides the sensitive data in screenshots

2025-02-19

@Edent they also look to cycle every 30 seconds rather than the 120s that 1Password respects from the QR

2025-02-19

@Edent looks looks iOS native "password" app supports it, Microsoft authenticatior does on both platforms but Authy doesn't on either OS. 1password seems to accept it but only shows a 1 digit OTP (other apps are standard 6 digit)
