But there are joys too. We love riding our bikes to the baseball game or museum, using our bike trailer as a stroller, walking to the neighborhood ice cream shop with our baby in a wearable, etc.

That isn't to say there aren't challenges. The biggest are:
- the "biking black hole" during a baby's first year
- streets that are hostile to pedestrians (especially toddlers), and
- the lack of family-oriented #housing.
We've lived it, moving from #DC to #Columbus when we wanted to have a second kid and couldn't find a three bedroom apartment we could afford.

Look, it's not about forcing everyone to be #carfree, it's about building cities where families have real choices. Thanks to @OhTheUrbanity for starting the conversation. We're adding our perspective with three kids and from the Midwest: https://urbanists.video/w/cWVTCWiA95KwgubeL2ZqSW

@fedivideo thank you! I’m hoping to get back to posting more regularly.
New video!
We love @OhTheUrbanity’s car-free baby video. But what happens when you have three kids in a city that isn't Montreal? We break down the reality of urbanist family life—the gear, the challenges, etc. WATCH: https://urbanists.video/videos/watch/60bfe660-94fc-443b-a1dc-236666f76aa2
USAID cuts will kill 14 million people over the next five years. That is an incalculable loss.
Some comparisons:
- COVID has killed 7 million people worldwide
- About 10 million people died in the holocaust.
- Mao’s great famine killed 15M+.
We should talk about these cuts in those terms.
@ianrbuck thank you!
Ellis June Caffrey joined our family in the early hours of Saturday. We’re all thrilled and ready to get into Good Trouble together.
So encouraged to see hundreds out to #protest in deep red Greene County, Ohio. #fiftyfiftyone

@FallsMom really hard to tell from the ground level. It was easily in the thousands. I could believe anywhere between 2k and 5k I think.
Today at the Washington Monument. #HandsOff
Huge turnout at #HandsOff Durham, NC. I never got a look at the full crowd so it's hard to estimate but I'd say it was close to or over 10k people.
Thousands came out in the rain for the Columbus, Ohio #HandsOff protest! Stand up, fight back!
Stand up, fight back! #handsoff
Huge turnout today for the #icotownhall and folks are fired up. None of our elected officials showed up, but folks in this room are ready to organize and take action - protests, contacting their reps, registering voters, winning elections. We’re not backing down!
