I miss Google+ a lot. It was and still is the best social media app I've used.
I noticed recently that #GuildWars2 suddenly got performance improvements and now runs at around 59-60 FPS on my #SteamDeck.
It's on a lower-ish setting but the FSR makes it looks really good still. I'm pretty happy with this performance improvement surprise.
If Threads successfully integrates well with Mastodon's fediverse, and proves popular with the mass, I would love to see XMPP or Signal or whatever open standard protocol for messaging be next to rise.
I DO NOT want to maintain 9 different chat apps any longer.
People seems to be more hype around Mastodon apps lately. What am I missing out on? I quite enjoy the web app interface so I just have PWA on my phone. Are there any app-exclusive features I should know about?
PS. I follow a Mastodon app developer here and I think what he's doing is cool and neat but I'm not sure what the difference to the PWA is aside from the UI.

That's also my takeaway from reading this. Having a rigid paid structure was not right for a standard body. Instead a clear grant guideline should be given to
any commited working group without corporate sponsorships to apply to be a member.
I'm annoyed that I can't buy a laptop with Thai keyboard anywhere outside of Thailand.
I can't repeat this often enough.
What I want web3 to be about is gossip protocol like scuttlebutt and activitypub like mastodon. We need open, decentralized, and federated internet, and peer-to-peer protocol should be web3 focus.
Got a new haircut after my Guild Wars 2 character
@ash I'm also looking and #DellXPS15 seems to be the only real option. It has good ports, no barrel-port power adapter, good Linux support, and real function keys. The only downside is 720p camera.
I had Monday off work, yesterday.
@ash I also did. There were multiple cakes so the mission was a success!!
It's my friend's birthday and I've been telling other people who are also coming separately "you should bring a cake". I really hope to show up to this party and find 7 different cakes.
I've been in the market for a new laptop for almost 3 years now. Still, nothing strikes my fancy.
@ramsey There is a large group of people who can't participate in the official community because of their lack of English language. Having a link to auto-translate like Twitter does really goes a long way.
Many vulnerable people also won't participate in a community without a clear written code of conducts.
Came out to Nanaimo for my homestay mom's surprise 70th birthday party. Honestly, it was very impressive and more lit than any party I've been to in the past few years. They really know how to throw a house party.
Weekend \o/

Gnome 43 looks very nice and seems very touch and mobile friendly. I wish Steam Deck had come with Gnome instead 🥲
Edit: I careless and less about customization, and more about the default already fitting most of my needs.
