The fact that Microsoft Teams 🤮 contains a feature called "Teams" where actual teams can create a Team, and at Microsoft the teams working on that feature probably have a Team to discuss the Teams feature, suggests that there exists a Microsoft Microsoft Teams Teams Teams' Microsoft Teams Team.
@epistatacadam @guigsy @ArtBear @ChrisMayLA6 @KimSJ just as a clarification, because it's easily missed this stat was about the Top 10, not the Top 10%
@PTR_K @futurebird Perhaps it is impractical with the type of system that is popular now. But also perhaps someone who has traceability as a goal would have designed a different type of system?
@batterpunts i am not a countess.
I'm actually broke.
i don't have staff who take care of my child and dress me.
I have to dress myself (and my daughter).
I think that's the main reasons.
@mike @GossiTheDog @never_released but it also lets your boss spy on you, so we can't really tell if it's good or bad.
@zens @VulcanTourist @rezmason this is good stuff
@irvingreid @mhoye
a) Hillel Wayne's agile is people, the rest is commentary
b) the DevOps elephant:
@mekkaokereke @JoBlakely @Oaktag @adambkaplan thank you for this. this… helped.
@mekkaokereke @JoBlakely @Oaktag @adambkaplan meanwhile i was out of the DevOps loop for five years thanks to kid and pandemic, and now i feel completely out of my depth trying to reenter the field. The things i had let pass by me as hype, are more mandatory, and the things i had specialised have become completely nieche. and while I've done a ton of programming in the past seven odd years, it's far from enough to actually qualify as software engineer. (maybe as apprentice or junior engineer)
so, yeah, it kinda depends on the specific field…
@unixviking Linux (the Ubuntu-based @elementary OS) on the desktop and FreeBSD on my servers.
@max @oxidecomputer The technical evaluation is broadly limited to the materials, but there can be exceptions. We go into our process in our hiring RFD: https://rfd.shared.oxide.computer/rfd/0003
Interviewing for a job that seems pretty cool, and everything reminds me of how awful interviewing as a concept is.
Here's an interview with @bcantrill on how @oxidecomputer does it: https://www.whatiswrongwithhiring.com/e/innovative-recruiting-a-unique-approach-to-hiring-with-bryan-cantrill/
@oldmankris @jeffjarvis it seems that no philosophy of ideology is safe from grifters, and, honestly, it's quite fascinating.
