Another #sashiko sample.. Jujizashi (cross stitch)
Really enjoyed doing this #Sashiko Hexagon Stitch variation (kawari kikkozashi). Has some map / data viz potential for encoding values in a hex grid too. โ

@crashposition cheers! Thinking about NOT having email locally.. just fills up space. Thanks again! :)
@crashposition they say they use fastmail as their webmail client. Do you access email that way? Maybe I should go direct to fastmail?
@crashposition nice! thank you!
Maybe a bit of a UK/EU question, but what service to folks use to manage email to/from their own domain? I assume google can, but is there a better service?
@bit101 just by feel. It's interesting to do by hand as you get quite into "the mind of the root system". Meandering in a given direction, and gently trying to avoid others.
@bit101 thanks keith :)
Finished my root system #generative #embroidery experiment. Made by starting with a full thread, splitting into 2, then again into 3. Decided to add a second grey layer under the white to give it some depth. Pretty happy with this. :)
@Joanie at a similar time, I did some "joanie style" project mapping on some hand cut prints, and the wood plate itself: https://www.instagram.com/p/B8Wyfzlhzti/
@Joanie First... I LOVE this!!! Are you going to print from this CNC etching?
Second.. I used CNC to cut the shapes from this generative design in this japanese woodcut, but nothing as intricate as yours! https://www.instagram.com/p/B8ohGlCB3Kv/?igsh=MWk5bzhiMHk3aXVsdg%3D%3D

#WIP Branching #embroidery experiment. This has been fun to do this week. Take a thread, begin a branch, split thread into 2 branches, then split those into 3.. seems to create a surprisingly convincing branch / root system. ๐
