Was this an advertising ploy in the "don't ever come to the USA" tourist board?
My extended family decided not to ever return to spend £s or euros on holidays heree, Disney will be quiet?
No hasta la vista?
Trying to get up that great big hill of hope. Fell into the great Cloāca Maxima of our lives.

@quietewe
I learned this some years ago, never gift something that someone is an expert in. e.g. your bf is an expert in their preferred track suits styles.
Either find a way to get their direct opinion or have them explain it to you, or find another type of gift.
Just my $0.02.
@molly0xfff Hand painted awesomeness? I'm on board.
For those in the US doing holiday shopping, you have a couple more days to order from my store and receive your items by Christmas! Stickers and prints should arrive in time if ordered by December 17, other items should be ordered in the next day or two 💝
@rye Make bits not war.
@rye Well, that explains a lot. If people live w/o knowing the ring levels or the difference between kernel and user land then more power to them.
@rye ... what?
I don't mean that sarcastically, though leading yes. If you don't know how the underlying OS works how do you write software to control/use it... 🤯
@rye
Similar, I went to get a degree a few times but they were already teaching stuff I knew.
We made a live environment too and I got to demonstrate how backups work when one student decided to rm -rf their peers folder. But yeah, they ran it built it, made features, etc. etc. A couple students from there I wish I was able to keep in touch but nooooo, FERPA nuh uh uh
@rye
In my Linux classes I had the students start day 1 with writing bash scripts, copied from the whiteboard so they'd know what to do but yeah, hands on with technology is the way to learn it.
In September, I put in a purchase request for Enshittification at the library. In October, I was notified that Aarhus library now has it in stock. I reserved the audiobook. I just got a notification that it's ready for me to borrow. In one click, I have borrowed it. The library's simple, free, reader-oriented process is like the opposite of enshittification.
NEW, by me: Home Depot exposed access to its internal systems for a year after an employee posted a private GitHub token online, likely by mistake.
When a security researcher found it and tried to alert Home Depot, he was ignored. I alerted the company, which revoked access, but wouldn't say if it has logs to detect if anyone else found the key.
Ooooh so noooow its bad if ICE agents get taken to a police station to prove their identity.
"The agent, who’s assigned to another HSI office and is in Minnesota on “temporary detail for an operation,” is unfamiliar with the Twin Cities, did not know where they were going, and “was in fear that he was being abducted.”"
#ICE #FuckICE #ChingaLaMigra #USPol #minnesota #FuckCBP #FuckHSI #ACAB #Immigration
The ARMED ICE goon was sooooo scared of the two unarmed Black people whose car he had invaded that he also called the local cops.
However, odd it is that an ARMED ICE agent was so in fear of police contact that he had to make his own police report in the moment to try and cover his ass for what turned into a car jacking.
If the ICE shithead was in the right, why is going to a cop shop soooo bad????
#Germany group of students conducted #OSINT analysis of patterns of movement of #Russia ships correlated with recent #drone incidents across Europe. And guess what? They did find such patterns in most of these incidents - such as this one:
Meanwhile, 115 kilometers away off the Dutch island of Schiermonnikoog, her sister ship the HAV Snapper had sailed out and parked in open water. It positioned itself exactly two hours before seven drones appeared over a Russian freighter being escorted by German police through the North Sea. It stayed there for four days and made silly circles.
