Artist credit spam.

(This is my second experience with this, first time I ran it down to learn it's a real thing.)

Credit a bigger artist as featured on your track, and Spotify will tell all their fans about it. Spotify user content reporting has no path for reporting fraudulent song metadata, only artist profile data.

I just listened to this whole dang song hoping to hear one of my favorite artists. Actual artist monthly listens: 123. Spam credited artist monthly listens: 104.8k.

You know what? As a society, I don't think we have a data privacy problem, actually.

What we truly have is a
consent-respecting problem.

If, as a society and as individuals, we truly respected people's informed and freely given consent, we would not have problems with data privacy at all.

If we culturally improve our consent-respecting practices, we will inevitably understand better how to improve our privacy-respecting practices.

Ask first.
Give options.
Respect people's choices.
Never share without prior permission.

Since the original DOS "MS-DOS Editor" is in the news because of the brand new "Microsoft Edit" here's your reminder that the original MS-DOS 5 editor wasn't even a stand-alone program, but rather just QBasic in disguise.
All EDIT.COM did was launch QBASIC.EXE with the /EDCOM parameter (undocumented parameter, although the official /EDITOR does the exact same thing.) That's why EDIT.COM itself is only 413 bytes.

It also revived, in heavily updated form, the magnificent old Rolls Royce 6.75-litre V8. It was built at the old Rolls factory in Crewe.
