Just crossed the border into Austria hoping Meta AI on my Ray-Ban glasses would finally answer “What’s the capital of Slovenia?”
Spoiler: it didn’t.
Here’s what really works (and what doesn’t) with Meta AI in Italy, Hungary & Slovenia.

Venice in summer is beautiful... and brutal.

If you're visiting between June and September, you’ll need more than a love of canals — you'll need a strategy.

I just published a full survival guide for beating the heat, humidity, and crowds — check it out here:

Leica + Venice = the perfect match.

This city doesn’t give its secrets to those in a rush. You have to move slowly, frame with care, and listen with your eyes.

"Remembering Pope Francis (1936–2025).
A gentle, humble leader whose message of peace, compassion, and inclusivity resonated across generations and faiths. It was an extraordinary privilege to photograph him in October 2013, in the sacred setting of San Francesco d’Assisi, the home of Saint Francis, whose teachings profoundly inspired his papacy.
May his spirit of love and understanding guide us always.
Rest in Peace, Papa Francesco."

The Captain of the Pantera Contrada walks toward his horse before the final rehearsal of the Palio.
A quiet moment, loaded with history, pride, and centuries of tradition.

There was a time when my photography served deadlines and headlines. Every image had a caption, every caption had an agenda.

Then came silence.

Inspired by Koudelka, I’ve shifted toward something deeper—something quieter. Photography that doesn’t shout, but waits.

Not every lens is about perfection.

Some are about soul, flaws, and a certain kind of magic that modern glass just doesn’t give you.

This was shot with one of my favourite vintage Russian lenses — a Helios 44 — mounted on my Leica. Softness, swirls, character... exactly what I love for personal work and storytelling photography.

I just published a new blog post about why I use old Soviet lenses on my Leica M10, M6 and M3 — and why these imperfect tools still matter today.

Planning a photography trip to Venice? I've organized my favourite locations & tips into this Pinterest board — it's like my public notebook. pin.it/3VGyNyYJR

I’ve always seen Pinterest as a guilty pleasure for recipes and home decor, but then I realised — it’s perfect for dumping photo tips, workshop guides, and location boards.

I’m using it like an open notebook for photography.
