Fun, relaxing weekend of basing up my foot troops for my Warriors of Chaos army. For the #oldhammer nerds, hope there's a few in here you enjoy!

@mr_whateley Finally signed up. I'm using social media so little now, that oldschool RSS feeds and comments suit me better.
@RollleafD Very kind, thank you! Yeah, it was an effort to step up on character models. The incredible sculpt makes it easy to find the detail now my brush control is improved.
@erikcats Thanks! Definitely need to add different colours to the next set now :)
@fnordius Yes, it's Thrud, but a plastic version from the Zombicide: Black Plague set. Not one of the old metal ones.
@Wolf Very kind, thank you! Scruffier up close than it looks from a generous camera shot.
@RollleafD Ah that'll be fun to see them finished up as Future You compared to Past You.
Mine is comparing this Ork warboss from around 2010 (maybe?) against what I painted in 2020. Definitely lessons learned in the intervening period.
@RollleafD Looking at older work really is an eye-opener isn't it?
My Zombicide heroes painted to-date. Ten heroes, and approximately 15 hours in total. A reasonable compromise between speed and quality to get things on the table.
@pidgeon_pete Thanks! I can't claim it's original, very much learned from Craftworld (https://www.instagram.com/craftworldstudio/) as I love their use of underpainting colours to set atmosphere.
Trying more speed(ish) paints for something that looks good on the tabletop and focusing on the elements that jump out.
About two hours of fiddling trying to find effective skin & NMM that doesn't feel boring or take ages to do. When I crack this it'll improve the next 1-hour challenge.
Lord Bazak from Zombicide: Black Plague
Yes, yet another (and final) attempted speed paint. But holy shit, studded jacket and armour put paid to that idea quickly! Nice to give him a shiny hat and fancy striping though.
Genevieve from Zombicide: Black Plague.
An attempted speed paint but missed the hour. There's a ton of little details to pick out.
Considering how cool the Bonner artwork is, the face sculpt is poor. I hope a better painter can tease out the face it deserves.
@pidgeon_pete Thanks! It was only Akhelian Green, Magenta, Greenish White, Ochre and a little Flat Black. But a lot of variations in there as a result.
@MiLk Thanks! One hour, and a hairdryer to speed things up. But could definitely spend a few more hours on the detail ... but I won't :)
One-hour speed paint of Mizar from Zombicide: Black Plague. Tried to focus on the overall shape and impact of the painting rather than getting lost in finessing the detail.
Started and still WIP on Hardbirff from
Die Hard Miniatures today, but I do love this sculpt. Proper old school orc, and detail is uncluttered and fun to paint.
@RollleafD Cheers!
