i bet you could do a fun Ridley Walker-esque story in toki pona
@Gaelan namecheap says it's only $650 to buy, i wonder if i could get some funds together and resurrect it as a .rs redirect

"So how about we make 2023 the year of the personal website? The year in which we launch our first site or redesign our old one, publish a little more often, and add RSS and Webmentions to our websites so that we can write posts back and forth. The year we make our sites more fussy, more quirky, and more personal."
i like the plan. how about we start by calling a personal website something friendly, like.. a "homepage".

New blog post: "Retiring Pinafore" https://nolanlawson.com/2023/01/09/retiring-pinafore/
Probably not going to surprise anyone, but I'm stepping back from Pinafore. Thanks to everyone who followed along with this project over the years!
@scanlime ahhhh. Yeah, that's frustrating.
@scanlime unfortunately I definitely need UI stuff working, though I wonder why you say it'll be tedious?
(that is, I only use Linux and mostly on a T480, and while I can test things on Windows with a VM, I can't do that for Mac OS.)
fun photo from today's walk
just walking into a coffee shop with a camera (with the lens cap on) seems to elicit an equal proportion of "will you take my photo?" (Three now!) and awkward stares followed by turned-away faces
I can't well hide the camera, since I don't have a bag with me, but I do understand the discomfort. A lesson for next time I'm out I guess.
know your logarithms
* ln(x) - natural log
* lb(x) - binary log
* log(x) - "fuck it you know the base right" log
* loglog(x) - loggers
* log*(x) - logchamp
hmm. i think it is time to move my monitor to portrait
these third party Fuji-format batteries last *forever*
@packbat it's very fun! plus it's programmed using Lua so I bet y'all would find the ecosystem pretty approachable
@manifold no, but i have gotten so annoyed at a GitHub comment that I installed Ubuntu to *avoid* using a flatpak
one big positive of using Digikam is that it gives me a centralized place to save alt text for photos
:o macro photography...
