@stripey @tulpa to me #PostmarketOS+#sxmo is the most exciting thing happening on the #pinephone today.

1/ the vision of PMOS is really cool, forward thinking and ethical, and the people running it are very dedicated (mobian ppl too by the way ;) )

2/ sxmo is an environment that doesnt try to copycat iOS or Android, but on the contrary to enable endlessly extensive features (what terminal users would seek) through hooks and scripts, while being usable (gestures) AND frugal in resource.

I haven't settled on how I'm going to handle catching all the Mastodon accounts of the folks I follow on Twitter.

That's made up mostly of game industry folks and a handful of public figures, but I'm not trying to replicate my Twitter experience here. I'm enjoying the wider variety and less "profession oriented" mix of people I've been able to connect with.

For now I've been mostly following game people using my studio account just to keep track and then I'll sort things out later.

Mastodon was designed for websites and third party apps. These are *still* the best ways to use Mastodon!

(Official app exists because new people were only looking for an official app in app stores, and giving up when they didn't find one. You don't need to use it!)

The cool thing people always love about jumping on a new platform is meeting and following tons of awesome new people they otherwise wouldn’t have.
This is why we need to KEEP NURTURING smaller communities online instead of herding to one big conglomerate like the past 10 years. We need more rooms to walk in and meet new people. Modern social media megacorps took that from us.
